Changing the line set when adding a new heat pump

I have a 18 1/2 year old 2 ton heat pump. Three years ago it lost it's charge so I recharged it with R22A and it runs great! I recently purchased a SEER14 heat pump and air handler. I have to convert the airhandler to a downflow unit by flipping the coil and pan 180 degrees and inverting the unit placing the return on top. Why can't I place clips to hold a filter above the coil? Also, can I reuse the existing lineset, since they are the same size, (3/4" suction and 3/8" liquid)? Has anyone ever used a coupling called "Shark bite". They are like Chinese finger cuffs on copper pipe and the salesman assured me they are refrigerant rated. The lineset go straight up from the outside unit, through the attic to a small utility closet where the airhandler is in place. I believe this would keepthe compressor oil in the compressor. Since they both use the same refrigerant I believe they probably use the same oil. R22A can blend with R22.
