Our high never got about -9 today . . . I went out this afternoon and the wind chill was -38. My nose hairs froze and I think my lungs screamed a little; I'm not sure because my eardrums were coated with such a thick layer of ice . . .

I just can not imagine living where you do in - temperatures. It was 55 here in south Ga. and I thought it was terrible. The low tomorrow night is 24 and we are stressing out. Don't know how you stand the cold.

I'm freezing. I let Jake out tonight to do his business and he got his lead wrapped around the deck posts. I had to put a jacket on and go out and unwrap his lead. It sure is nice to sit in a warm house and look out at that beautiful snow. I still prefer winter to the hot, humid summer.

The main thing is to layer clothes, cover your face wear hat, gloves and good shoes and heavy sock and be careful. And remember to keep the mouth closed!! Breathing in is not good. Especially for us old folks and the babies and young

12° was our high today. It's 7° right now at 8:38 PM. It's supposed to get down to -6 tonight. I won't be going out tomorrow probably either.
Linda, Toby does that a lot. He'll go out to potty, and gets his lead wrapped around a bird feeder pole. Then I have to go unhook him. Grrrrrr.

it was 59 here today...I washed and hung our bedspread outside to dry...it smells like heaven in our bedroom now! We're supposed to have snow tomorrow...mmm...could be an interestin weekend! I'm dyin to get the hardly used sled out!

DS's hockey practice for 6am tomorrow has already been cancelled in anticipation of this looming winter storm. There is an ironic humor to hockey practice being cancelled for predicted icy weather.

It is the most bone chilling cold ever! I had to fill the car this morning with gas, even with big thick gloves and good warm coat I froze. My eyes were crying from the wind and cold.

I was on the road late afternoon with DS to pick up his DD. I hate it when the weather is bad, especially with that little girl in the car. I put gasoline antifreeze in the gas tank but still you worry about something going wrong with the car!

I'm with Ronm80. I just can't imagine living in that cold. It's 49 here now. DH and I went out to eat tonight and it was raining and soooo cold. I'm trying to get warm now that we're home. Tomorrow night will be 29. That's REALLY cold for us.

It's 10:30 and -14 degrees (-34 with the windchill). Seemed like a "nice" day earlier, the sun was shining and there was no wind - the kind of day you don't realize you could be freezing to death! But now, we're in the realm of frostbite for any exposed skin in 5 to 10 minutes.

marie, I'm in northern MN, about 3 hours west of my hometown that set the all-time MN record back in 1996 of -60 (actual temp, NOT wind chill) . . . there's a reason we cook so much up here :)

I just checked the temp. It is -12 out there, and expected to get down to -18 during the night. The sky is clear and that makes the temp worse because we don't have the clouds to keep the heat in. At least there is no wind out there tonight.

In the morning the wind will pick up and I'm just real glad to say I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. We had a activity planned for our Senior group, but someone was wise enough to cancel it because of the extreme cold.

I still prefer living up here where it gets this cold, because it only lasts for a couple weeks of the year. Down South, you have extreme heat for a couple months. I don't think I could stand that. It's easier to put more layers on then to take layers off...lol

It is 4:45 am, it is -9.3° actual temp and it is -22° windchill! And...it isn't the coldest time of the morning yet. I NEED a haircut...but not sure if I need one bad enough to go today.

I'm in central Mississippi and we have SNOW!! The temperature is 35. First time we've had snow since '99 and not much then. You might know I would wake up with a sore throat this morning and can't get out in it. At least I can look at it.

Still -5 here with a high of 5. It was -10 when I got up at 7:30.

Real cold here in Indy too, but not cold enough to stop my jogging.
I grew up around the lake near Chicago, and Indy is the tropics compaired what I was used to.
I like it about 20 degrees and no wind........perfect!

Well I wish you people up in Minnesota and North Dakota would shut the durned door! That Canada air is not welcome here. It never got above +6 today in north Missouri. I'm looking forward to Monday, when they said it MIGHT reach 30.

BRRRRRR!!!!! I remember one Christmas in SC, it got down to zero overnight, and was only 5 degrees on Christmas morning. My mom and dad bundled up and came over to my new apartment bearing gifts. I was so thrilled to see them! My car battery was dead from the cold.

It's raining and 61 here right now.

It is bone-chilling freezing here too...DH had to work today and forgot to build me a fire in the family room wood-burning stove. I guess I will try to do it (although he tells me it's never quite right! lol!)

DD#2 is gone and I am letting her dogs out. About 2:30 yesterday afternoon I went to let them out and got out of the car and thought holy cow it feels nice out! Came home and ran to check the temp, it was only -2!! I told DD its pretty pathetic when 2 below feels nice!!!!!! She said you can definitly tell your from ND when you can say below zero is nice!
It is warming up somewhat, only -16 this morning. But I hear another front coming in tonight and MLK day is gonna be bad again.

OK warm today. Got an inch or so of snow so now we have that instalation to keep us warm..... at least it is 2 above now. Weather person keeps saying one more day, and by the way, we did not open the door to the south, just just like to share!!
By the way we are 30 miles north of Minot and just 25 miles south of the border so we usually are colder but not as cold as MN or eastern ND>
