cabinet color input needed

I know I'm getting ahead of myself since I don't even have my kitchen design finalized, but..... I'm getting into picking tile/counter/cabinet color anyway.

Here is a pic of a tile I'm seriously considering along with a sample of Caesarstone Blizzard countertop. The paint chips represent possible cabinet colors.

Any votes on which color would be best, the lighter balboa mist or darker collingwood?

These are just two I'm considering. I could go more into the browns or more into the grays or even cream. What I really want is the prefect greige that kind of plays both ways.

I think either would work, but I think I like the bit more contrast with the counter that the collingwood brings. Lovely choices all around!

When I was picking interior room colors for the whole house, I painted both of those colors on big poster boards. Both were nice. Balboa Mist surprised me from chip to board. It seemed more griege than I expected and very neutral. Collingwood would provide a bit more contrast with all the neutrals I see on my screen from your samples.

I'm sure you plan on doing this already, but make sure you buy a sample can at BM and paint a large board or paper. Try the painted sample in different parts of the room at different times of day WITH large samples of whatever other materials you might choose.

Thanks for the mirror suggestion! I wanted to use the uppermost cabinets to display things, but it's not imperative. Could I use mirrors on the upper cabinets and glass on the sink and fridge wall or will it look funky? Fori- I thought about your idea and I'm going to ask the cabinet guy if he can put a piece of wood in front of the duct and paint it to match the cabinets. It would only give me a few inches in front for a plate or something, but it could work. The only problem I see is that the lighting will be different in just that cabinet, brighter since it would be right at the front.

I would also love to see bigger planters, but they are expensive and not currently in the budget. I'm planning on large heavy concrete planters where the dinky ones are now, and also near the steps to give a little extra stabilization to people who need it entering and exiting. We've always worked with what we had as a proof of concept until we're ready to tackle the permanent solution, hence the little ones for the time being. I can easily move them as I determine where I want the permanent ones, and how many I want. I think the hubby would kill me if I tried to paint his new patio cover. I might need to give him a few years before attempting that. It's alumawood, so not sure how well painting would work. I'm filing that away for future reference though. We had a local grocery store who painted their ceilings a sky blue, even all the exposed pipes and what not and it really was a nice feeling. They even added a few cutout clouds, it was a really cute design. Summers here are regularly over 100, so every bit of cool helps. I found an amazing umbrella at World Market, but when I went to go buy it today they're now out of stock. Here's hoping they find some more. You guys are amazingly helpful, thank you so much!

I really like the wainscoting color combination in this Benjamin Moore brochure https://getbetterpaint.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Fresh-Pales-Color-Card_US-Eng-Sp.pdf. You don't have to do those exact colors, I'm just suggesting not to contrast paint colors too much. I would paint the wainscoting, trim and island one color with a coordinating lighter color on the upper walls. If this were my kitchen, I would keep the table, rather than add an island, but you may have more pressing needs that an island is necessary.

In person it was the same effect, it's why i took photos from both angles. Last night I upgraded my recessed lights from 75w to 125 and it really high lighted how light that color was. Thank you for the suggestion, we're going get a couple of more samples tonight and start trying different doors to do side by side comparison .

the balboa mist is nicer-I'd get a little more red in the formula-as it's coming through in some of the backsplash tiles.....it would give more warmth.

Balboa mist really does change (almost before my eyes) from a greige that's more beige to a greige that's more gray. I kind of like it for that. I'm will definitely play with it on a large board. This is a cabinet door I found which states it's painted balboa mist. Sure looks looks more beige here. I just don't want something that is going to turn a weird green or blue on me in different lights.

Any of the colors for the cabinets would work. But NOT with that counter. It's all too close to each other in tone and value. you need some distinct contrast in one or the other.

hollysprings- So do I need a more creamy white countertop? The Ceasarstone Pure White seems too white to me. I feel like I want a solid color on my counter with that tile.
