Yes, I owned both IQ and Wave Touch washer and not the dryer. The washer does well with large load but when it comes down to KING SIZE comforters it takes forever to get the whole thing wet. One queen size comforter should not have this problem as like the king since the bedding is much smaller in size. So this is not a problem if all your bedding is Queen sized. I do add water only for my KING SIZE comforter through the dispenser. Just enough for it to get completely wet and no more. Rinsing is fine after adding extra water for the wash cycle only. You can wash small loads without a problem as long as you have all items weighing the same so that when it goes into spin, the balancing act does not take forever. The Quick Cycle is a 5 minuet normal wash and one rinse. Consider this as an freshen up cycle. It says it can be done in 18 minuets only if the load is balanced during the spin cycle, in reality it is 25 minuets. If you are washing coats, to increase washing action, place two dryer balls with the load. I've just done my best friend coat with feathers and it done a great job around the cuffs and neck area without pre-treating. As for the door, both worked flawless. The machine needs to level and squared to prevent door from sticking. I don't own the dryer, I can not see how poly fabrics would burn in this dryer because of the design. If you look inside the dryer, it's an opposite tilt than the washer and the lint filter and sensor is toward the front, the suction would keep anything from sticking to the rear where the heating is coming from unless the user was doing a full load of poly blend on high heat. In today's world, appliances are hit and miss. Not one machine is going to perfect and everyone of them will have flaws that we consumers has to deal with. I know we want the best that our dollars can buy, but it's more about conveniences that should take the main step in our lives than the best what MFG are putting out. I have the best of both world, a top loader and a front loader and right now the front loader wins over the other. If anything were to happen to my daily driver then my backup is ready for use! Hamper door verses not. A lot is personal preference. For the most part, you're reaching across the hamper door then into the dryer. No problem when you have long arms but with the side hinge you can get a little closer - not as much as you'd think, but a little. It was easier to unload clothes in some respects when I had the side swing door. Now I have the hamper door FL dryer on a homemade pedestal. The platform makes it MUCH easier on the back, legs, shoulders and knees which for some people wouldn't make a difference, but for me it makes a big difference. And the hamper door gets in the way a little, but it more than makes up for it by giving a stable and convenient folding table at which I can stand upright, fold my clothes and place into the basket to bring upstairs and folds out of the way when the door is closed. I debated long and hard whether to go with the cheaper side door, smaller capacity or go with the hamper, larger capacity dryer. Either way I had decided it was going onto a platform of some type. I'm glad I got the one I did, for a number of reasons and am relieved I didn't skip the platform. Many FL fans don't understand and some FL fans refuse to accept that there are people with physical limitations where a FL is more difficult. (And I'm not suggesting it's anyone posting in this thread.) For some it's naievte, for some it's bullheadedness. I'll briefly explain. Pedestals do help for some, but add significantly to cost if you go with manufactured ones. People without the physical impairments often can't understand it and there was someone a year or two ago who even was foolish enough to say the exercise will do you good... to which there is no way to carry on an intelligent conversation, much less rational disagreement as they refuse to listen to the reasons one is preferred. Course there were even people who were so irrational that they argued that TL owners walked around in stinky, shredded clothes. Ah, the nutcases out there. You can call their grandbaby ugly, but don't disagree with their washer choice! LOL BTW, in case you haven't noticed, laundromats mount dryers much higher than they are in homes. Why? Ease of use for most. It's done that way for a reason. They could easily set them on the floor. My personal opinion? I don't think the HE top loaders do everything as well as a good FL. But for most people, they don't need 200+° temperatures, 1600+ RPM spin speeds, can save thousands of dollars and still get perfectly good results. Just like some will do perfectly fine with a $400 set of cheapies and still get clean clothes. Some won't accept this but that's JMHO.

The new Electrolux Wave washer and dryers do look great. We had them in Silver Sands for about a week. 2 dryers arrived broken, and when a "good" one finally arrived, 2 days later it caught fire during use. Yes, fire. Thankfully we were home. The smell though of the melting plastics and interior pieces were so toxic and gross in our laundry room, and the clothes inside had to be re-washed. Of course, after the re-washing...then we had no dryer. To make matters worse, all the clothes in the dryer were for my cousins visiting from Germany, and they were leaving that day to return home. Luckily, it was 105F that day....so we dried the clothes outside old school :) The washer arrived broken too, from day one. The main control knob was at times near impossible to move (to select wash cycles). A new one was on order, but once the dryer caught fire, I told the store to just forget it. After multiple faulty dryers and a broken washer...we were burned (literally:) on Electrolux. When the store picked up the faulty units, they said in the same week they had to pick up about 4 other Electrolux Wave and IQ units for being broken (and new). It's a shame, because the clothes came out so clean, and the dryer (8 cu ft) made the clothes SO soft and fluffy!

Sabrown72... I understand you've done this practice (not sorting) your whole life but with your brand new high efficiency machine there is a learning curve. If you had a traditional top loader before you could get away with mixing as there was a ton of water to help suspend color transfer (plus your old washer never got as hot as the Sanitary cycle reaching over 150F). With so little water in "he" machines you're concentrating color dye as well as soils (dirt and body oils). Be sure to use a detergent for what you're washing. There are detergents geared for whites and detergents geared for colors and they really do help keep whites white and colors bright with less fading but you need to separate the two loads at minimum between colors and whites. Whites can withstand hot hot washes where colors will benefit with warm. I don't recommend cold/cool (unless your cleaning a blood stain or protein based stain), as cold/cool doesn't loosen body oils trapped in clothes fibers. For me the learning cure was dosing detergents and bleach with my Electrolux. I have soft water and only need 2 Tablespoons (3 for huge load) of detergent. There should be no suds visible, just bubbles. Only a 1/4 to 3/4 cup of bleach is needed. If you don't use liquid bleach you can substitute with an "Oxi" type bleach (only use on whites). I love my Electrolux and hope you enjoy it too.
