Enclosed Porch

OK, I'm back with another question :).

We have a small enclosed porch off of one of our spare bedrooms upstairs. It is 5x14, I believe. It is attached to the West side of the building.

It is completely enclosed. There are storm windows (instead of real windows), there is drywall on the walls, (no insulation I believe), and then the ceiling is just the rafters and then the shingles. Everything is waterproof, etc.

My question is...I want to put our cat's litter boxes out there. With winter coming, the only way to do that will be to put a space heater out there and leave the door to the enclosed porch open a bit.

Will this be sufficient? We aren't looking for it to be totally comfy, just to hover around 55 or so, so that the cats can be comfortable when they go to the bathroom. And we also smoke on the porch.

Would a regular space heater with a thermostat be OK for that small of a space?

Any thoughts?

We eventually will turn it into the sunroom so this is a temporary situation.
