Chemo-sabi Troll

I posted this once before, but it somehow fell off the board before I could get more info.

I want to get more information about the darling troll doll that was named chemo-sabi. I want to make one for my sister...I have no talent but really want to try!!

Someone made it for Mary Ann, and it had a heart on its butt.

Eureka! If wabi-sabi may be a thing with flaws, and a thing weathering of age, then I am closer to it that I thought. :) We know wabi-sabi may also refer to "things recycled" such as the mill stone step or the pier stone base, and the lantern used in the garden when no longer useful for the temple (Eureka again!). And, as I hold a treasured tea bowl, with its unique irregularities and history, I see wabi-sabi flash in the eyes of the tea master, letting me know it would be appreciated if I would use both hands! Looking into the garden from where I sit tonight, and not considering favorite stones or special plants, I would pick out the small, old, iron lantern that sits on the basin, its fat candle reflecting the subtle ripples of the water surface, as my example of wabi-sabi. It would be interesting to hear what other's feel is their particular piece of wabi-sabi. So desu ne?

Okay, I need some help here. Where do you find the trolls to begin with. My aunt is starting chemo and radiation (last week) She has lung cancer, and is 82 years old. You'd never know it to look at her. I'd like to send her one too, but I don't even have a troll doll, or know where to find one anymore. Not trying to railroad your post trinity. Sorry. Leslie

Seems like your step daughter does more than mine. Mine just attends school. My wife has a co-parenting situation where the child goes back and forth between homes. But her daughter left the biological dad’s place permanently after she turned 18 because she hates her step-mom. So she moved in with us permanently. We taught her how to drive and bought her a 16 thousand dollar car so she can drive herself to college. She’s 21 now and a junior in college but she doesn’t do much around the house. Free food. Free housing. She only takes care of her room, bathroom and takes out the kitchen trash. She doesn’t cook because she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t do dishes and leaves her dishes for me or her mom to do. On her free time she just watches tv and hangs out with her friends eating expensive food that her mom gives allowances for. So many other things I probably forgot to list it all. I feel bad for my wife because she does everything for her. I’m pretty nice and always lets it slide but at times it makes me frustrated. However to keep peace in the home I never say anything to my step daughter. I’m hoping one day she realizes how much we do for her and not take advantage of our kindness. Im not sure either because ive heard her say its the adults who have to mak sacrafices. but she is an ault herself. she has voiced that she is living with us forever. i hope not. I hope she finds a good partner or a rich husband because she has voiced that she does not want to work. Why waste money gojng to college then? And yes we pay for some of her college tuition. Because her dad will not eventhough he’s supposedly rich for the gram. she says her dad is struggling because he has 2 more little babies with the new wife to take care of. But just because he chose to have another life doesnt mean he throws out his other kid like trash for someone else to pick up.

I suggested the name for your troll but I certainly don't deserve any credit. Tonto always called the Lone Ranger - Kemo Sabe which was supposed to mean 'faithful friend' in his native language. It just seemed to fit your troll perfectly. I'm so glad he's been your loyal companion, he's taking good care of you and Jammer too.

Trin, I hope you make a Chemo-Sabe troll for your sister and that it means as much to her as mine does to me! He goes with me every day, although he usually waits in the car while I get my radiation.

I haven't been feeling well for the past 1Â½ weeks and I know I've been dragging around and probably complaining way too much. Today I was just getting to the city and was stopped at a red light. My eyes were drawn down for some reason and Chemo-Sabe was sitting in my cup holder in the console and was looking directly into my eyes, with that silly grin on his face. I had to start laughing! It was just one of those moments. I picked him up and stroked his hair (that's good luck, you know, LOL). And I was smiling all the way to the doctor's office.

Maryann I am sitting here with tears in my eyes.
I do so hope that in some small way that little troll will help you through this journey.
I am glad that I was able to do something that could bring some joy to you!
Trin is sending me her two trolls and I am going to make them official Chemo-Sabi Trolls for her.

Could someone more technically talented than me re-post the thread that had the photo of the Chemo-sabi doll? I remember seeing it [I think - now I am getting older - so maybe I'm dreaming] If I am dreaming, could someone just give me more of a description....Pretty please -- I have a co-worker that I'd like to make one for... TIA of course!

My heart just melts every time I see that little troll.
Jenni-Trolls went to the PO today, they are anxiously awaiting their trip to California. I just can't thank you enough for helping me out. I hadn't held a troll since childhood, they still smell the same as I remember. Lots of wonderful growing up memories attached to those crazy little dolls.
