same as you Sue, Orville Redenbacher

'nother Orville fan here.

I can't stand microwave popcorn. It smells like urine to me.

I make mine in my electric popper the old fashioned way with oil and Jolly Time.

We don't make it much anymore, but I use the Stir Crazy popper and just popcorn and oil, salt later. I don't like microwave popcorn either.

I love Aldi's light microwave popcorn, it's the only kind I buy.

We have a hot air popper and use Orville's.

Can't eat it anymore, myself, but I always stuck to Orville's, popped on stop of the range--don't think microwave popping corn is worth voiding the warrantee on my microwave (even though they usually have a popcorn setting, if the manufacturer discovers you've actually used it to pop corn, they generally won't honor the warrantee. Popcorn is one of the worst things you can cook in it).

Wildchild - very funny. Just one question, what do you drink? Never thought of popcorn smelling like urine.

I buy organic popcorn at Whole Foods and pop it in extra virgin coconut oil on top of the stove. The microwave ones have unhealthy oils and additives that I try to avoid.

Now I'm hungry for popcorn!

ACT II.

I just had popcorn a little while ago. I make mine with Jolly Time on the stove. Microwave popcorn has bad oil and it is way too salty for me.

Home grown "strawberry Popcorn"

The corn produces red kernals on small ears about 2" in diameter and 2" long that look like strawberries.

We sell the ears for seasonal decorations for thanksgiving and Christmas. People especially like to hang them on the Christmas tree as ornaments.

Whatever is left at the end of the season is shelled off the cobs then some is retained for seed and the rest is consumed as popcorn.

I can't stand the smell (or taste) of microwave popcorn, either. We use Orville's and real butter. Sometimes a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, too.

I have one of those square poppers (brand new Goodwill find) for in the microwave and use Orville's popcorn in it. Was eating Act II but decided to cut back on the salt. The Orville's does not leave many "widows" as the cheaper brands

"old-fashioned way" -- with an electric popper! LOL

And, I think the voiding of warranty will only come
into play, if you fail to use the correctly
packaged Popcorn and/or utensils in the oven. Bags marketed
as "for Microwave Popping" are ok -- or Poppers made
for use in a Microwave.

Wow.

Organic old fashioned kernals and coconut oil on the stove top. Real butter and REAL salt. Kamren likes his with fresh grated Parm and garlic powder or nacho cheese popcorn seasoning.
I've tried to grow the strawberry corn...it never matures here.

Bulk ... from the bulk store.

Works about the same.

Cheaper - at some bulk stores.

We use the organic popcorn from our local food co-op and it is fantastic - big fluffy and yummy. We use a microwave popper and can cook it with no oil or less than a teaspoon of oil. It does not smell the least bit like urine.

My husband loves popcorn and i rarely eat it because it gets stuck in my teeth. I ususally buy what ever is cheapest at walmart The bag we have now is SHurfine brand a store brand and there is so many pieces of shells in it it is unbeilievable not hulls but pieces of shells. This will be the last time we buy this brand. I think my husband bought it though.

I like Trader Joe's Organic Popcorn with Olive Oil.

Pop Secret; just finished some. I buy the 100 calorie bags. It's realy good (yes, it's microwave). I don't like Orvill Redenbacher at all.

I have 3 jars of organic that were a Christmas gift. Regular corn or canola oil in a pot, add a quarter cup of the corn kernels, shake over the (gas) burner. Salt and butter afterwards. Be careful, don't overdo the salt.
