Everything is good! Keep the Evolution Controller!
The controller is a 4 wire data controlled system.
He needs to hook up the ABCD terminal on the Controller back plate.
A=green wire = data 1
B=yellow wire = data 2
C=white wire = common 24v
D=red wire = power 24v

There is a green plug that comes in the Evolution Controller box and also a temperature sensor.
At the Furnace
Get the green plug out and hook up the 4 wires color coded on the plug. Then plug the green plug into the 315V furnace fan control board where it has the female end labeled ABDC

Let's hope he ran at least 4 control wire to the outside condenser. 2 wires for the condenser 2 for the OAT sensor.
I will assume he did.

next from the furnace fan control board hook up the outside condenser use Yellow wire to Y/Y2 and white wire to the C common terminal these two wires will hook up to the outside condenser as normal.

hopefully he has extra control wires running outside, (4 or more) doesn't matter what colors, I normally use black/brown colors if I have it. Hook up temp sensor that came in Evolution Controller box and stick it on the condenser normally in the shade section below the rubber grommet opening where he runs the control wire into the electrical panel to the condenser.

Hook the sensor to wires to the OAT terminal on the 315v furnace Fan Control board.

Then he will need to go through the install set up in the evolution controller. The Controller will recognize the furnace but he will then make the choice size for the A/C.

Have some patience with him,
Tell him not to give up and I'll help him through.
You definitely want the Evolution Controller and once he installs this and understands that it is really simple to install but the most powerful cool thermostat there is he will NEVER go back!! There's nothing like it!!

If he has issues tomorrow and needs some guidance other than what I wrote

Thanks for the replies. Dave you're the man. The Bryant sales rep is an idiot. He should have known how the Evolution controller connects to the furnace.
I sat down last night and looked at the schematics and figured out why there was a green connector included in the box along with the controller. The installer called the head service engineer and got the info that the sales rep should have provided in the first place.
I've printed out your very helpful guide and hopefully this will help them to figure out how to connect and program the Controller.

I'm having to controllers installed in different rooms (master bedroom and media room) as the primary unit in the bedroom isn't adjusting for the much higher temps generated by the projector. Could have gone with a zoned system but that would have added an extra $2K. Is it OK to run 2 sets of wires (1 to each controller) in the different rooms from the air handler/furnace and then switch each controller on or off depending on where I happen to need heating or cooling?

I have never attempted 2 evolution controllers in one system. Not sure if it would work since these are communicating controllers and not the normal 24v signal on and off thermostats

However,
You can add up to 4 room sensors in parallel to the Evolution Control S1 S2 terminal. These sensors will take the place of the internal sensor at the controller and average the temperature.

Before you install 2 evolution controllers the install company should get the ok that it can be done by Bryant and I will ask myself because I never had the question asked before.

Thanks for all the support Dave. The installer just left having completed the job. In the end we decided to take your advice and install a remote temp sensor in the media room to relay the temp in that area. This should help to neutralize the significant heat output of the projector and keep the HT room cooler.

I now have an extra SYSTXBBUIZ01 controller that needs to find a new home. I just discovered that the main furnace in living room is a 315A too and is currently wired to a Thermidistat via the std pins on the furnace. Am I losing any benefits by not using a communicating controller via the 4 pin green connector?
Is there any reason why I can't wire this Z01 (zone) evolution controller up to the furnace directly? The manual shows it should be wired into a damper system but I don;t see why it can't go directly to the furnace.

Yes, you can hook the SYSTXBBUIZ01 to the 315A it uses the same set up as your other system, the green plug will plug into the 315A furnace and you just hook the condenser up to the furnace board like the other furnace you just purchased.

The Evolution Zone Controller is the same as as your other Evolution controller but it has extra software for Evolution Zone Control. If no zone is detected it works just like the SYSTXBBUID01 model.

I normally install the Z model Controllers in homes that may want to do zoning at a later date since these controllers are very expensive and the cost of the Z model is slightly more than the D model but to swap out the Controller models at a later time is Very Expensive.

I definitely would use the controller.

Thanks for taking the call today Dave. With your help the AC techs figured out that their connections at the furnace were incorrect. The manual is of no help as it was written before the Evolution Controller was available and never updated. All is good now.

Yes the setup information would be in the evolution control install manual not the furnace install instructions.
As I explained to them, they needed to hook up the out side condenser wire to y/y2 and not y1, since y1 would not be energized for single stage cooling.

Anyways great to hear they have the evolution controller working for you now.

Ok had ago at installing the extra Evolution controller on my main HVAC unit. AS I mentioned earlier the furnace is a 315AAV048 which is the same 4 ton unit I just had installed.
I hooked up the wiring and disconnected the additional wires going to the board on the furnace. The wiring matches the new unit ie ABCD plus com and 24V (Y/Y2) to the AC unit (1 stage).
Tested everything out and the AC works and so does heat.
What is different though is that the Z01 controller doesn't register the model of the furnace during setup. This furnace is identified as '71 KBTU out'.
Any ideas. Am I missing something? Does it have something to do with the age (2003 installation)?

It may be that it is 2003 model. Each electronic board now has info(model & serial #) burnt in one of the electronic chips in manufacturing. If/When Electronic boards are replaced in new systems (warranty) you have to put in the BTU of the furnace and/or A/C . The main concern is the size of the furnace and the size of A/C system so it can send and receive information to regulate the EMC blower motor.

Dave I am hoping you still know your material on Bryant Controllers. I have the same type with A B C D, same color and I want to install a NEST learning controller in my home. Is that possible to replace the Bryant Evolution, with a NEST unit?

This is an old thread, so you are likely not to get any responses.

Using the Nest in place of the Bryant Evolution controller is a bad idea. If you want wifi then you are better off putting the money towards a newer Bryant or Carrier controller.

Or Honeywell?

A honeywell thermostat will not be able to communicate with the Evolution furnace. You will loose the diagnostics features.
