Ideas? Keys, Keys, & More Keys!
Comments (40)your brother had the same graduation date as my younger brother... you must still miss him... first ideas that came to my mind was also a birdhouse... mosaiced, with a few keys in places, with local little pebbles, from the river, moss from your backyard trees... little branches and any found things from your property.. if possible, his car license plate for the roof of the bird house.... second idea was to get several 6" tiles, from like Home Depot or Lowes...and make a frame around the door of one of doors at your house/cabin...in a Spanish idea they could be attached with some ready mixed grout/adhesive, with things attached to the tiles, in a mosaic idea but not necessarily grouted.. just bits and pieces, again, with the keys and found articles from the area, where you live.. tiles will be available in either white or an antiqued color..I've been painting the ones I have and firing them, so one day I can either do the door frame, like I mentioned or the back splash along the kitchen counter.. I love anything PNW, in art work...shells, rocks, glass, rust, ...I would do my entire house on the outside, if I had the stamina to do it...lol Becky....Olympia...See MoreI made key lime pie with real key limes!!!
Comments (24)Brian!!! How you buddy!! HUGS buddy!!!! Listen, I have been wondering how things are going? I saw what your yard will look like and now a greenhouse to boot! If there was a way to put that bar into your greenhouse, just think of the possibilities...lol Have you been able to get all your plants out of the yard? The perennials and shrubs and stuff? Then all your citrus and others.? By the way, don't forget to take Sugar with you...lol How far from your original home is this? Is the weather the same there? You must be getting very excited to get your new place all done and to set up that greenhouse..Always just on time...You will have it set up before the cold weather moves in, much earlier than you last attempt..lol You do have the plastic cover already or will the one you already have be big enough? Please, if you could, could you start a new Thread about your whole set up, the progress, pics of the trees, yard and the building process if you get time? I am thinking many here would love to be by your side when you do like me... Brian, big hugs buddy.I can only imagine the challenges that lie ahead and yet I know you will come through perfectly..You always do...Great job...See MoreFluff post: Where do you keep your keys?
Comments (71)My friends are out of town for months or even years at a time and I'm enlisted to go check on their place. One winter someone broke in. I had never seen a burglarized house before. I was shocked by how completely they ransacked, tore into, emptied, shook-out, turned inside out, spilled out, split open, yanked apart every thing they could. You could not move in the house without trampling on top of the household contents that were all over the floor, beds, chairs, tables, etc. It was a disaster. My neighbors really did not have anything of money value and most of their formerly valuable possessions are now old and undesirable. Nobody steals a tube TV anymore. Nobody steals a 20 year old computer. Nobody even steals a radio. Radio, what ancient thing is that? So when it comes to hiding your keys, I'd say their is really no completely hiding them from a determined thief. I wonder if some decoy keys set out in a somewhat obvious place, plus some sacrifice-able valuables left in equally obvious places could spare your better stuff, your well hidden better stuff. What do you think?...See MorePut your car keys beside your bed at night.
Comments (27)Elmer -- Wouldn't you have to spend time reporting your (unlocked) car stolen? What would your insurance agent say about that? Wouldn't police have to spend time looking for it? Do you leave it unlocked because you think it would not be damaged by a thief? bpath -- We must both live in Chicago suburbs. I know that people in mine think we live under a golden dome of protection. There's no need to lock cars left outside overnight, or to remove valuables -- or garage door openers or house keys -- from them. Why lock your house or tell the cleaners not to hang your order on the front door knocker when YOU ARE NOT HOME?...See Morealku05
