Loose ends, what were they thinkings?, and just ramblin
Comments (12)Thanks for asking, Suzy. The lettuce is coming along just fine. Here are my microgreens: I have a few other lettuce patches too, but they all suffered because I attempted to forestall the impending season change by putting off planting past when I should have... sadly, that technique wasn't particularly successful, and my spinach, in particular, is pitiful as a result. You'll be happy to know, that while my canning goals fell shy of my pie-eyed spring time dreams, I did manage to can and freeze quite a bit, and even canned a bunch of salsa last weekend. And I have a tone of green tomatoes ripening behind cat-proof doors for my next batch. Thanks again for providing telephone support when I had my little meltdown. I really wish I could trick you into coming over next fall, and calmly walking me through all the routines. I do tend towards mania. For the record, the pants I'm wearing right now have no front pockets and one back pocket. I don't need a place to store skoal (tried it in the eighth grade and hated it), tape measures (they clip handily to my waistband donchaknow) or dogeared wallets (if I go purseless, I only need my DL & debit card... and both would fit in that back pocket... though they'd make my butt look weird, which I'm sure it did anyway, since I ran around with a flash drive in my pocket all day today...) I miss a lot of former posters here too, though I hesitate to name any, as it might imply I don't miss the others, which is not true....See MoreStupid design things--what were they thinking?
Comments (32)Human size cut out posters (standing upright) doing all sorts of activities or lined down a hall. They bother me for some reason. And is it just here.....but when did walking on the right to shop at malls (akin to driving) become a norm? Tis' a standard here. Haven't shopped at a mall for years and people sure know how to tell you where they want you to be. For some reason I do right side cart in grocery stores, from osmosis or all those electric carts. TPMs....has anyone notice they look like someone's "bare" rear end? Who designs these things? New car and the thing won't go off. What good does this do? Mechanic told me this happens with some cars and it is a law now to have them. Lazy mechanics are my stupid design things...animate or inanimate. Although the design logo is the same, MINI has had this for years and can be turned off manually when tires are changed, adjusted, etc. I can do it if they can't, an odd routine. But again, a lazy mechanic is going to avoid it and spend the time talking about how it is fine. They must have changed the build from original design, or we are getting junk ones. Perhaps there is a way for the user to manually turn it off....and off to search. This isn't a design thing. I cringe when looking for something in a store, then asking the clerk for information and they answer "I don't know". Can't count the times I've wanted to tell them to find someone who does know or to learn something and find out. Every color possible on appliances, no need to put any holiday lights in the kitchen. Just turn the lights out and everything else on. Same with your car at night. Dazzling!...See MoreWhat do you think of Electrolux Touch-2-Open doors?
Comments (3)I DO NOT like them. While they at first seem cool, they feel fragile and "gimmicky". My Wave Touch Dryer arrived with the push to open door already stuck. When we reversed the door, it got much better, but it arrived broken. Also, I like to leave the washer door ajar when the unit is not in use (never had any mold issues ever, even after 20 years using front loaders). With the Electrolux doors, they are open or shut....they will not just stay ajar. The spring mechansism is very "springy", and it just swings all the way open. Our laundry room is somewhat small, and the door being all the way open makes it very hard to move around & impossible to use the wash sink next to the washer. I think a regular door is best. Also, if this push to open door was so great...don't you think another company would use it, or adopt something similar??...See MoreA 'What were they thinking?'
Comments (49)(((Pal))) It just shows what great taste you have! Maybe you could just take a peek at one of the ones that's not moving? I've told the story about the house that we made an offer on? It had been on the market for over 2 years. It was a "unique" property that had a train caboose in the front yard. We absolutely loved it, so we offered full price, cash. They initially accepted, but before they actually signed the contract, started hemming and hawing, wanting to add on all sorts of deed restrictions, and finally backed out of the sale. Their realtor was very appologetic, and told us as soon as the house went back on the market (for more money,) we'd be the first to know. We told them to shove it. It's all a big roller coaster ride....See Morelivebetter
