What's for dinner 1/12/11?

We're having a repeat of last night's vegetable beef soup. I can't taste anything so cooking is frustrating. I did feel better today and got quite a bit done. Gonna' be a cold, cold night. Down in the low 20's here. Ick!

Been eating my cooking since Sunday, and I wanted OUT. Roads were clear, but I really had to hold onto the railing and go ever so slowly up and down the icy steps.

IHOP for their 2x2x2: pancakes, sausage, eggs over easy

Don't have boots and my feet were cold, so I came
right back home.

Oatmeal and peaches tonite

Was over to see Mom in hospital today. She asked if I'd go to her home, get a roast out of the freezer, cook it well-done, have mashed potatoes, carrots around the roast etc. When Wally gets home from work the 3 of us can eat dinner then. I did, and Wally was surprised and thrilled. Mom's been in the hospital 10 weeks, and Wally is still loving his pasta. He feels much more comfortable eating at home than at other people's places, even ours, so I didn't mind cooking for him at their home. Dinner was good!

Lemon-pepper pork chops, green beans, rice with fresh garlic, steamed cauliflower. I did good if I say so myself! Marilyn Sue, I have to remember to get some sweet potatoes this week. Love them any way they're prepared!

Kathleen, I've been wondering how you've been doing, both with your surgery and the exchange students. Sure would like to hear all the news about both! I love salmon patties and also any kind of salmon served with peas. That sounds so good, schoolhouse. Nita, I bet you're over the moon having your son home. brie with apples sounds very good . We had a very light lunch so tonight we had deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, gravy, green peas, and tried a new "fried chicken" recipe from the Deen brothers. I was a little leary of the cornflakes for the coating, and wow was I surprised, Guess it was the seasoning, but it sure didn't taste like cornflakes. Used light mayo, egg whites, lemon juice, lemon zest, to coat the boneless chicken thighs. Three year old granddaughter came over for dinner and she loved the chicken. Oh, almost forgot, granddaughter and I made peanut butter chocolate candy. She loves chocolate , and so do I. They taste like reece cups and we ate them until we almost got sick. My plan for tomorrow is to eat light.

Braised country ribs, mock mac n'cheese (cauliflower with cream, bleu, cheddar, romano and cream cheese). Would have had a salad but we were out and have a foot of snow so I didn't feel like running to the store! LOL!

Since strets were clear of ice got to BK and had the fish sandwich plate taking half of fish home for cat also got 5 each of the jr Whoppers and double cheese burgers from the 1$ menue to keep in the fridge
