Hello! I was searching this site for this very issue. I have a large aloe whose bottom leaf just fell off. Just like the first poster, the leaf and attached stem looks very healthy- no rot, etc. I was hoping I could plant it since it has part of the stem on it. However, I was disappointed to see the second poster say to NOT plant it. Can anyone please tell me why I should not plant this perfectly viable aloe leaf? Thanks!

Seysonn, you are correct and I am learning a lot fast. I like this forum and out of all the forums I am a part of this is the best. People are very knowledgeable here and I have a lot to learn. I am glad you pointed that out so I can say thank you for not only seeds but assistance in growing them and utilzing them. John, I had two older (15 and 17 years older) brothers and whatever they could do I had to be able to do and do it better so I am accustomed to eating hot, sour, etc and not making faces if possible. I also like Thai food and the local Thai owner and cook gives me some of the special hot sauce on my food that they keep in a jar behind the register for special guests who like it hot. That is where I learned not to inhale while swallowing extremely hot food. I used some of the powder in the dish I prepared tonight and my room-mate did not need his car to get back to work as he flew out the door with flames coming from you know where and he was whimpering. I just sat there trying hard not to laugh as he danced in the road before coming back in and asking if I was trying to kill him. I told him no that I was only trying to light a fire under him so he could get his chores done. He shut up and went back to eating along with drinking almost two liters of beverage. I thought it was fairly mild. Can't wait to try the other one though I think my tongue may not survive this tasting.

:( Soo sad that I missed this. I would have loved to join (and still will if can). I am a newbie and understand that I trade first. While I do not have many plants established, I can think of many ways to give from my heart!!

When I put down the red scarf, I liked the soft flow of it. I'm looking forward to seeng your floors. HOpe you take plenty of pics for us. OA...'elegant, yet so warm and inviting at the same time. Not tooooo frilly, but very "valentines-y" just the same.' Thanks...I guess I accomplished what I was looking to do! I'm smiling! BTW...the Heirloom White - Satin..is by Rust-Oleum (Painter's Touch) It has fabulous coverage. The color is a nice soft white. I bought mine at Home Depot last Summer 'cheap' - I've been giving 'new life' to many things I have. In fact I've got to replenish my supply. DH discovered mine and he's loving it too! Punk..you and some other 'enablers' here have really inspired me with all your lovely tables and decorations. I guess I caught the 'Love Bug' and had to do something too! Karen...'You' not an enabler - ... HA! For someone who doesn't do tablescapes, you put together the most lovely vignettes with ALL your collections and Holiday goodies! I get totally swept away! So, I guess it's safe to say yeah...you're a 'First Class Enabler' !! Nana...I got hooked on cherubs from some of our 'Friendly Enablers' here. I keep a few out all year.
