New email notifications

Hello favorite test guinea pigs! ;)

We've been working on enabling email notifications to all posts. This means that you can sign up to receive notifications, even if you didn't start the post. You can also stop the notifications.

There have been some issues with getting these notifications from certain email providers -- or even a delay before receiving them.

If you decide to use this feature and run into any issues, can you report back to this thread?

Thanks for helping me test and reporting any bugs you might encounter!

I'll be the first to point to an 'issue'.

You responded to this thread and I am getting the follow-ups emailed to me.

This is what the email said:

I've tried loading clippings on FF and had no issues. As Christine and Sue suggested, I would make sure that Javascript is updated and to also try it on a different browser, if that's an option for you.

Yes, go up to Your Houzz in the top right corner, then hit Edit Profile (near top right), then at the left go to Advanced Settings. You can control your notifications from there.

Sleeper, just to expand on what Tamara has told you (I know some of our KTers have had trouble finding their way around) Hover your cursor over Your Houzz top right, then move it down and click on Edit Profile. You may have to sign in at this point if not already signed in. Advanced settings will be on the left, if you click there you will be at a page where you can uncheck any notification boxes that are now checked, and change the other options to Never. Let us know how you do....

I unchecked everything meant to solicit emails, rebooted then went back in and rechecked everything, rebooted again and still no emails. I contacted Houzz and they checked my account and saw no reason why I stopped getting emails. They suggested doing what I had already done and essentially said we can't help you. So, I've just accepted no emails.
