You have had a professional perform the Man J for both heating and cooling? You have a copy in writing?

I question the choice of the stat. I want a stat that will handle blower speed for best humidity control.

You have had ductwork thoroughly inspected as to size,condition, supplies/returns, leak test, insulation qualities, etc?

Any hot/cold spots in home that need to be addressed?

The XP19 is a premium system. Generally speaking Trane/AmStd systems hold up better to beach/coastal environments. This might not be a concern depending on proximity.

What size system are you replacing?

Price seems reasonable with rebate. However, I would solicit several more quotes like a Trane XL19i and Carrier Infinity.

I do question the size of the heat strip quoted for Tampa location.

Yes, they did a Man J for cooling - probably not heating since I told them we haven't used the heat since we moved here, although there will be years where we will need it. I don't have the Man J in writing.
Thanks for the info on the stat. I didn't know that the Honeywell Pro 8000 thermostat wouldn't do that.
They did NOT look at the ductwork - so I guess that could end up costing me extra if it needs work.
I mentioned one hot spot - and he told me that was because the room was added after the house was built (almost 400 sqft!). The ductwork was run to that room, but it doesn't cool well.
No problem with salt here, we are pretty far inland.
We are replacing a 4 ton unit - a comfortmaker that came with the house.
Getting more quotes as I type. 2 More today. Will keep you posted.

It is doubtful you can go up in size from a 4T to a 5T without changes in size to your ductwork system both supply and return. The room that does not cool well usually indicates undersized supply. Your dealer need to evaluate your ductwork system. It would be a real shame to spend $$$ on a premium system with a poor/undersized ductwork system that will limit both comfort and noise quality. I would want to see the Man J in writing.

It's been a while, so I thought I'd update this post. I'm satisfied with the MAN-J even though I didn't ask for the hard copy. I watched him perform it...checking insulation, windows, exposures, etc. I also got more quotes, and eventually was going back and forth between two companies until one of them lost their temper :).
He started bashing the "other" company, saying he never heard of them and that they probably sub-contract the work. In reallity, the other company is a member of the BBB and has had only one complaint ever filed...which was satisfactorily resolved. They have been in business since the 1970s. The guy that was doing the bashing...well his company isn't even listed with the BBB...but then I found out he's only been in business "in this area" since May of this year. The decision became pretty easy at that point.
So, for $7240.00 completely installed...I get...
1) Lennox XP19-060 2 stage, R410A, DLSS 5Ton 16.3 Seer
2) Lennox CBX32MU-060 Variable SP R410A, DLSS 8KW Heat output.
3) Honeywell VisionPro 8000 thermostat (8320 I think)
4) New airhandler stand
5) New line set 1 1/8 / 3/8
Oh, and I get $1000.00 cash back by mail, so really only $6240. I think I did pretty well. :)

I agree that you got a great deal there.Congrats! I live in Kansas city area and for a 16 SEER unit 4 Ton,80%AFUE furnace, 2 stage variable speed,humidifier and Tstat, I was quoted for $8254. That's with the $800 rebate included for a Trane unit (priced same for Lennox). That is why, I think I will go for Rheem unit,with price difference of $1600 (for heat pump) or $1900 (for A/C and furnace). Does anybody have inputs abt Rheem units?

I live in Lakeland (not too far from Tampa). I'd like to know where you got any of your quotes because it beat mine by over 3,000 on what seem to be identical equipment (5 ton Lennon XP19).
