What's for dinner Monday?

Happy Monday, KT! Another 80 degree day, but by the end of the week we'll be back down to normal January temps. It sure has been nice while it lasted.

We're having spinach quiche for dinner. I don't know why I don't think about making them more often, since you can throw anything in them you want. We're having a fruit salad of strawberries, pears and bananas to go with it.

What are you having for dinner tonight?

Brrr, it's 39 at 4:30 and RAINY cloudy, etc.

Despite the bad weather, twelve of my group met for lunch at The Fish Market

No one ordered the same thing.

I had fried trout almondine! Always fresh and great!

Some of us were going back to my place to play Mexican dominoes, but gal forgot the dominoies and it was too rainy to get out in the weather multiple times so we decided NOT.

Patti I make Fritatas for the same reason~~~almost the same but no crust~~~

YEA!! Tonight I am finally, after I do not know how many weeks going to my Monday Yoga class;) My DH will call in a take out order to an Italian restaurant close by the center. I will have Penne Broccoli, with sun-dried tomatoes, with a garlic, thyme olive oil sauce;) Not sure what he will order~~I just know I do not have to cook;)

I've eaten at Tubby's for breakfast, which was pretty good. The Marshall House is so beautiful! Did they tell you that you got there at a lucky time? You just missed the St. Patrick's Day parade, when hundreds of thousands of people attend what is reported to be second largest St. Pat's celebration in the country. What a green crush of people! But it is an incredible parade...I'm glad I went but once was enough. And I think that the big music festival is coming up, another time that the city is packed to overflowing. The hotels and inns are booked a year in advance!

Pam, I love quiche and have leftover ham in the freezer. I should make one with ham, and onions, peppers and mushrooms. Hubby won't eat any hot cooked eggs, so it's me and my quiche. The last time I made hamburger rolls I posted a pic :) Cheri I love pot roast. I tend to make mashed potatoes on the side, instead of in the slow cooker. We like them that way better. Alice your dinner sounds great! We eat a fair bit of rice, just love it. Ellendi would you share your quinoa recipe on the Share your Recipe Thread???? We enjoy quinoa. That's the pits you had so much trouble finding the sriracha. Old Fixer, IS there such a thing as too much garlic? LOL Party, I was going to bake some sweet potatoes yesterday, but they are really small, so I mashed them along with white potatoes. We like them mixed. Matti, I've heard that In n Out burgers are good. Enjoy! Rhizo, we just had some homemade apple sauce that I took out of the freezer with a warm oatmeal-carrot muffin! Georgysmom, everyone deserves pizza at some point!

Prairie Rose, do you barbecue all winter long, or was it because the weather was nicer today? Morz I love a well-done roast, and the slow cooker makes it easy. I also love cranberries in my salad. Have you tried them with roasted brussels sprouts? That's a favourite with us. Monica I made sweet potato fries last week and we loved them. The last time I tried baking them, they oozed out over my oven. I didn't realize they cooked so much faster than white potatoes. Rhizo, I love reading your dinner threads. You are so darn healthy! BLF, isn't it nice when a recipe from a fellow member turns into a keeper? Shirley, I wasn't sure if today classified as a "holiday" today (Family Day) so I made sure I roasted my vegetables before 5 pm to at least get the mid-rate hydro rate. I hate the smart meters. Moni, I add cheddar cheese to my broccoli soup. Probably negates any positive benefits of the broccoli, but it sure tastes good.

Jim congratulations on your upcoming cruise! I love it that you had wine with bacon and eggs. Audrey, your dinner looks and sounds fabulous. We had baked potatoes last nite. Shirley, I've yet to make red beans and rice. What's throwing me off from making it, much as I'd like to, is that we only have kidney beans, as far as a red bean, and I know that isn't the kind to use. I made quinoa with toasted almonds and red currants the other day. We like quinoa. Kath, for some reason companies change their recipes. In the event of making things healthier, taste gets compromised. Less fat and salt is less flavour it seems. Prairie Rose, do you make the light fluffy dumplings? That's what my Nan made and that's all I've ever known. I've never attempted it; I should! Raven, that looks divine!! We love roasted vegetables! Erin, I hope you feel better. That's dedication, coming onto a dinner thread when you're not feeling that great. Betsy, that's nice comfort food. Gyr_Falcon, that's a great sounding meal! Glad to see you here.

I had a piece of salmon, mac/cheese, steamed broccoli and cauliflower.

I have never tried quiche before.

Today was bridge and lunch...., but I got home early enough to make my Asian chicken soup so that's what's for dinner tonight.

Patti, I would love your dinner, but my husband would not. We just split a ribeye steak and potatoes. Glenda, it was warmer here in northern NY today than your place. Almost all our snow is gone so I was finally able to refill my bird feeders.

Your supper sounds good to me Patti. It is a nice balmy 21 out right now. I had a fun day shopping in two of my favorite stores, Joann's and Hobby Lobby. Lunch for Cheryl and I on the way was McRib's, they are two for $4.00. Supper was chili soup, a banana with peanut butter on it and a cup of milk. I am full and ready for bed soon.

Glenda, I always think Alabama is as warm as Florida, but actually you are a lot further north. Your luncheon sounds like fun and the trout delicious! Sorry you didn't get to "play" this afternoon :-(

YogaLady, have fun at yoga! It'd be better for us if I ditched the crust, but we love it. Hope you aren't sore tomorrow after missing your class for a while.

Shirley, I'd love to have your dinner--we love salmon. You should try quiche--you could even throw in leftover salmon, if you had any.

Georgysmom, you must've found green onions! Have you posted the soup recipe before?

Pam, you're having a heat wave, girl! Glad your snow is gone. Did you cook your steaks outside?

Sue, I thought about chili for dinner but we've had beef two nights in a row. I don't care how warm it gets, I still crave chili once in a while. Harry just loves a banana with peanut butter on it. Sometimes that's his lunch. Sleep well!

It's back in the 40's again here. So I have my Aroma cooker loaded with my homemade chili. It turned out so good last time I hope I got it right again. It's smelling good.

Chili's last night. I had Crispy Chicken tacos. Love them. We will be eating out most everyday now as my kitchen has been contained now and no place to cook. My fridge is in my dining area and we have sandwich fixings and snacks. That is it. I will be so anxious for this to be over, but the demolition will not even start till maybe Friday.
