Inspired me to clean my kitchen cabinets and check the dates on the cans.

Now this is really BAD: I had a can of cranberry sauce, so old, that it had somehow seeped out of the can and stuck to the cabinet. Now I'm having a dickens of a time getting the gook ungooked.

I'm glad I did something useful today! LOL

I hate to admit this, but I had the same experience with a can of tomatoes yesterday. Except it wasn't in my pantry; it was in my pantry overflow: the basement. Quite the mess.....

That's not bad, Glenda. I've had a leaky hot water faucet in the master bath for, I can't remember how long. It finally got so bad that, due to extremely hard water, I had "cement build up on the shower floor. I spent all day yesterday and a lot of today cleaning that bathroom so I could get the plumber in tomorrow. (Couldn't let him see that mess, lol) Anyway, I filled a ten gallon trash can full of outdated makeup, otc meds, first aid supplies and body lotions & soaps I used once and know I'll never use again. What a waste. (We all have our dirty little secrets. lol

Thanks, guys. The date for the surgery is June 10, but I don't have a time yet. It'll take place in a short-stay surgery facility. I didn't tell him about the blood sugar, but the scheduling person said morning is never an option. Weird. Must be what you said, Mcmann, about major procedures in the morning. A friend of mine just told me that they probably give the anesthesia (Diprivan) because the act of numbing the arm is very painful. I asked the doctor if he could do it with just a local, and he said he could, but he'd rather not. So that's still a possibility, but even an uncooperative patient like me would like her surgeon to feel completely satisfied with the parameters under which he operates, at least when he's operating on me. :-)

I've been wondering what's going to happen here. The reception has been getting worse and worse but I decided to wait until the changeover was complete, the stations realigned and operating at full power before deciding what to do. Figured I'd have to get a better antenna by the way things looked but thought let's wait and see. I was wondering if they would delay it again with all the crying about it. Glad they didn't. A couple weeks ago I noticed the channels were screwed up. For some reason they were coming in on the channel they were actually on rather than being redirected. Rescanned but still the same. Amusing, but not a big deal. After about 12 hrs I did a rescan and it was back to what was normal for the time. So I was up late last night and watching tv. Didn't notice much until about 2am when I did some switching channels. Once again, they were on different channels. So I knew the change was made. Scanned again and all is happy. Plus the reception is FAR better than before. I imagine between the channels going to the more powerful channels claimed, they also cranked up the power. Clearest pictures I've had yet (on digital). Still not as good as analog on all but I can live with this if it stays like this. Problem is every time I rescan I have to go through and filter out the channels I don't want like the religious channels and the duplicates. However, it's early yet. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Hi! Scruffy is very much with us. Here she is a few days ago in the "cat house" on the porch. Although she's half Rocky's size, she's the alpha female. When she decides she wants the house to herself, she has it. Here, Rocky has improvised a cozy spot for himself under the comforter. And here she is, too, bugging Rocky to get off the chair so she can a) lie there herself or b) chase him around the yard. Take your pick. And(so you can see her face) here she is on top of the cat house. As for the mat problem, I lucked out the past few years. Between the two of us (Scruffy and I), the mats were taken care of. But this year they're worse, and I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take her to the vet. I'm waiting until the weather is reliably warmer. Right now the wind is howling and it feels like autumn out there. I'm going to have to re-read that thread I started in 2014 and revisit some of the ideas. Thanks for asking about our Scruffaluppagus. :-)

Me too. boredom makes me do things I don't usually do. But today, I spent with my daughter. Stopped at the grocery store and the library (latter for videos) to have food and stuff for the next few days.

I would venture, the KT will have a lot more posts when we are all in because of the weather.

I keep after my pantry but my spare bedroom was a mess. So we have been cleaning, fixing and spiffing! New bedding, draperies, rug and tossing out old......

DS helped me clean out the wooden closet in my garage to get stuff down from the top shelf and inventory it. box of gas masks and chemical suit rations waterr filtererrs all from the 2000 ice storm the kids sent me
on the floor which is wood he found a bottle of vinegar had leaked all over. We eventually got the propane tnks and Sterno stoves and fuel down to a lower shelf where I can reach it. and I found a washing machine I got at least 20 years ago that you turn the handle and pressure washes the clothes (My old survival stuff) I was happy to find that and am going to try washing undies in it tomorrow!!
It is so hard to get everything in the right place..

My bathroom floors are scrubbed and clean!

Didn't throw out anything outdated, but we installed a new shelving unit in our spare room (storage) and cleaned that room, then we hung shelves in our 'antique' guest room. Next weekend, we'll pull out the collection of porcelain dolls (which have been boxed up in the basement since we moved her 2 1/2 years ago) and put them on display.

I really need to clean my fridge. I don't know what's worse,harder for me, throwing out all the food that's open, or stored in various Tupperwares, or the actual cleaning/scrubbing of the fridge surfaces. All I know is, it's gotta get done. You give me inspiration.

Happy Monday!

I got a lot done yesterday sorting, washing and storing blankets. Put away a ton of laundry and don't laugh - labeled the dresser drawers. I'm not anal by any means. Moving into our new home, without have the money at present to have all our storage units - things are going into totes, garbage bags under the bed. Poor DH hasn't got a clue where I'm putting half his clothes and I've redesigned my layout in my dressers - everything in this place, as I sort it and store it properly - is getting labeled for future storage units and in case we need something.

Today I'm hitting the bathroom and tackling more of the bedroom - it's hard to sleep when it's out of sorts.

This thread is inspiring - thank you too Alisande.

I don't need to go through the pantry as I am pretty good about keeping it in order. My freezers are another issue..but it is too cold outside for me to start that. Makes me cold even if it is warm inside. I shampooed carpets upstairs..3 bedrooms and landing. Does that count?

I am pretty good about canned stuff.
Last week I worked on kitchen and "junk" drawers.
This week, I threw out and burned a whole plastic tote full of papers. It was one of the 2' tall totes and it was clear to the top. I threw out a bunch of "nostalgic" papers no one else would ever want.
Watching hoarding shows is a good thing!
