Thanks again everyone. Dinner was delicious but not very adventurous vis a vis the menu which had some very "interesting" items on it including calves brain and a tripe , sausage and bean casserole. I had escargot with garlic and parsley, frogs legs in a white wine and butter sauce and a Mandarin orange souffle. It was all delicious but the dessert was sublime. Clive had foie gras, duck with a raspberry sauce and the souffle for dessert We had a local sparkling wine as an appertif and a red from the same vineyard with the meal. The wine was lovely. I've made up my mind that I prefer Burgundy, Loire reds and Bordeaux in that order. I had never really experienced Loire wines before, they really are wonderful....not that I'll ever find them at home. We are leaving in a minute for a tour and wine tasting of the winery the wine we had with dinner comes from. All in all a wonderful evening.

Sol, I like the way you put that...value added! LOL Sharon, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! At least himself treated you to dinner. DH is happy to do that, anything as long as he doesn't have to cook! How nice! Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes! I missed them, as I was in Largo,FL for 13 days and just arrived home Tuesday. Spent my 70th with all of my friends down there (from the past 14 years)..and got to dance 4 different nights to my favorite live bands...felt so so good! And so I want to say a Belated "Thank You" for your thoughtfulness!

Well thanks so much to all of you!

Yes Annie we are at the cottage and no I won't be doing any hookin'...way too hot!

The kids are coming up tonight, Chris and Amity, Meredith and her BF. I can't even recall the last time we were all at the cottage together so Clive and I are both really looking forward to it.

You can't ask for more than that for a perfect birthday and Father's Day. Yes, I'll be cooking for them all but that's OK by me!
