Recent movies you've seen?

We usually don't go this often but this weekend we saw three new ones. The one we saw today had me laughing through most of it and then in tears at the end. Good movie, The Bucket List. Older group we noticed in the audience too and everyone was LOL through the movie, then at the end it got really quiet. I was crying my eyes out and everyone else probably was too.

We saw National Treasure yesterday and then I am Legend. Both were ok movies. Second one I can't decide if I really liked it or not.

What movies have you seen? Lauren wants to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. I don't really know what else is playing. Didn't really see any previews of ones coming out that made me want to see them. I can't even remember any of them.

We just got back from The Bucket List. I liked it more than I thought I would. Good movie! We saw National Treasure Christmas Eve and liked that as well. I won't go see Legend due to a part of the movie that my DD said made her cry through the rest of it (I'm sure you know the part I'm talking about).

Juno is supposed to be very good. Got great reviews. 27 Dresses looks fun too.

I saw a preview today for something that looked really good - can't remember what the heck it was now or even who was in it.

Want to see Vantage Point soooo badly. That me saying this. The one who waits for everything to come out on DVD LOL. I can't wait to see all the ones you mentioned, and Vantage Point seems most intriguing - Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Dennis Quaid......

That looks very much the same as the Thermador. I suspect the shelves and interior pieces may be plain or trimmed in white plastic instead of stainless, but maybe not. The sides of the door shelves are solid white instead of the dark plastic frame around glass. And it looks like the butter keeper above may have one door where mine has 2 -- but this is a 24" and I have the 30", so that could be the difference also. As for the Freedom shelf, I don't really use it and don't care about it. Kind of like buying a car, it's one of those things that came with the package. You wouldn't be losing anything by not getting that in my book.

I was driving home from college and had to pass under a railroad trestle that diagnolled the street. As I was coming up to the bridge, an 18 wheeler lost a tire and rim, that rolled across 3 lanes of traffic, hit the concrete pillar of the trestle, bounced back across 4 lanes of traffic, across a parking lot and landed in the back of a pickup truck parked in front of a car repair shop. Everyone in all 4 lanes of traffic, slowed down and watched it all happen, no one was hit. The guys in the shop came out and just stared. I don't think the driver even knew he had lost his wheel. Back in the late 70's when I-15 finally was finished and didn't go through Las Vegas, DH and I were heading for California. It was late afternoon and had been raining off and on. I looked over at the skyline of Vegas and there was a huge rainbow over the entire city. A Kodak moment and I didn't have a camers. Swear!!!

I'm with you on "The Help" dusty...just finished the book...it was excellent...can't wait for the movie...so much so that I might even go to the theatre! I watch a movie most everyday...but the one that really stands out is "Secretariat"...what a fabulous movie...so well done...great stars...i cried everytime he won...even though I knew he was gonna win...i'm such a sucker for animals and Diane Lane should have won an Oscar!

I was invited to the wedding of friend's sister, along with another friend of ours. The bride was a pretty obnoxious, spoiled brat but we were very good friends with her brother and kind of felt sorry for her because she didn't really have any friends and wanted the biggest wedding she could have. The ceremony itself was fine but when we got to the reception, the MOB set my friend and me to work bartending. We were horribly embarassed (and had no idea how to bartend) but we muddled through it. What made it even more embarassing was when the MOB insisted on paying us at the end of the night. I have no idea where she got the idea that we were there to tend bar but suspect the bride had something to do with it. As an example of how the bride's brain worked (or not) we visited her home a while later. I was helping her with something in the kitchen and noticed a bunch of tiny labels sticking off of a windowsill. When I asked her what they were doing there, she said that her parents had given her some Waterford glassware they had gotten on a trip to Ireland. When she served guests she wanted everyone to know they were Waterford so she would leave the labels on the glasses, then take them off before washing them and then put them back on.

I've been watching Stephen King movies.....need to get the new one.I have a portable DVD player at work.If I'm busy,it takes me a week to watch a movie!I only watch it when I'm waiting for work to do,which isn't often! Hmmphh! They think I'm there to work or sumthin'! LOL!

Saw the new National Treasure It was good and for the whole family.

Can't remember the last movie I saw before that I think it was one of those Road to Tabritha or something like that. I don't like the new movie houses. To high to climb and too loud!!

Our Red Hat group went to lunch and then to see The Bucket List......we loved it.
I was surprised I didn't cry.

We saw National Treasure last night, theatre was PACKED! We enjoyed it, and it looks like we really want to see The Bucket List, and after seeing all the ++++ comments I think it will be "date night" again next weekend!

:o)

I want to see Charlie Wilson's War also, so good to know KTers liked it also!

Paper clips is a movie? What's it about? I've never heard of it. Also never heard of P.S. I Love You, Juno, or 27 Dresses.

Vantage Point was one of the previews we saw, looks good.

I still had two Netflix movies to watch, one I got back in early November! I finally watched the both last night, Just Like Heaven which was ok, would have been better if it didn't skip all over the place. And The Pursuit of Happiness, which was pretty good.

I saw Juno, and I LOVED it! It was one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time. It does deal with teenage pregnancy and has some bad language, so you might want to see the rating before taking kids of certain ages. But I highly recommend the movie and I would even pay $10.50 to see it again!

Paper Clips:

Whitwell Middle School in rural Tennessee is the setting for this documentary about an extraordinary experiment in Holocaust education. Struggling to grasp the concept of 6 million Holocaust victims, the students decide to collect 6 million paper clips to better understand the enormity of the calamity. The film details how the students met Holocaust survivors from around the world and how the experience transformed them and their community.

The Water Horse.

Didn't think it was going to be much of a movie -but I ended up loving it!
