Do You Have a Spice Drawer You Love?
Comments (51)I too like the Kamenstein round tins with the shaker/pour clear lids. Here in Canada, they are available at Walmart as individual tins, sets with just tins, sets with magnet boards or strips, sets with magnetic tiered shelves. I think that if they're available here, they must be in the U.S Walmarts. The individual tins are available in 2 sizes, but the sets only seem to be available in the smaller tins. A couple of years ago, I bought 3 sets of 6 tins with the magnet strips for $7 each set (50% off). I don't do a lot of baking, so just needed a few. I have them on the side of my fridge (the side that can't be seen from the main part of my kitchen). I bought spice labels at DollarRama for $1 (40 preprinted labels and 10 blank). For $22, I got all the things I needed....See MoreDoes anyone have 'Spice Drawers' or small cubbies?
Comments (4)When I was shopping I saw many lines, including the families that included the Crystal and Woodmode lines (you know, all the many product lines that are sold along with those lines), that included a vertical wine cubby/spice cubby option. Or something that the company was willing to adapt very easily by removing a door, or adding a couple of little shelves to an open tray storage cupboard. It's not 61/2, more like, oh, 5? But I think they came in a variety of heights. I ended up having mine custom made, but I think what you're talking about is pretty much what I'm now storing my spices in now. And the look was not substantially different. "Drawer" to me says something that pulls out. Or is that what you want?...See MoreAnyone Use 6 or 8 inch RH Gilmore Pulls?
Comments (6)Yes, I do think you'll be fine with the PN on the glass pulls. I used PN for all my pulls, but PC for my 4 Rejuvenation glass knobs because they did not come in PN. There is so little metal visible, like on my knobs, that no on will notice. Now, Marcolo has very definite opinions of whether PN and PC belong anywhere in the same vicinity and will probably tell you no. I think its fine. YMMV. :)...See MoreDoes anyone have the Miele paneled warming drawer - ESW 6380 FB?
Comments (11)schicksal, thanks for your help. You're right, our KD checked with her installers (different from the installer we're using) and they confirmed that the drawer front is supposed to have a routed space on the back of the panel, and that's what the metal lip fits into. Our KD missed that it's supposed to have a routed space and thus didn't specify that to the cabinet maker, and looking over the Miele specifications, I can't really blame her. The dotted line above is supposed to be the routed passage. That's rather vague, and I'm not sure how one would know that without having dealt with such a drawer before. Miele should really make that clearer. xedos, I'm not sure why you're assuming that we're working with inexperienced, scatter brained imbeciles. The cabinet was designed and fabricated correctly. The drawer panel is exactly the correct size as specified by Miele, minus the routed passage as I just explained. You are correct in that the metal backer is installed onto the drawer front in the wrong spot, but given the installation instructions provided by Miele, and the fact that the drawer wasn't routed, there's no other way the installer could have installed the drawer front. Thus he realized the problem, contacted our KD, she contacted her installers, and now it's resolved. While I would love for everyone to be perfect and never make mistakes, and would certainly love to be perfect myself, I understand that mistakes happen. It's how people and companies deal with and resolve those mistakes that differentiates the good from the bad....See Moreannesv
