I have a beach house in North Myrtle Beach and have had problems with the Heat Pump for 2 years. I have a home owner warenty through AHS. AHS after two years of dumping freon said they would replace the Air Handler, but I would need to pay $ 400. I asked the contractor what it would cost to replace the entire unit with a new system. He gave me 3 options, replace the air handler, 5 year system and 10 year system for 3,019 to include the $ 400 I would of had to paid and what ever AHS would have paid. It was suppose to be a Rheem 10 year quaranteed system. When I drove all night and arrived on Friday morning, the installer showed up with a Ruud system. I asked if it was a 10 year system and he said it was and said I would need to fill in warrenty paperwork when finished.

BOTTOM Line: When I got home and did some research, they installed a bottom of the line Ruud with only a 5 year warrenty on everything with an extended warrenty.

Please give me some advice? I have placed a stop payment on the check.
