Advantages of 80% efficiency furnaces?

I'm looking into replacing a 20+ year old Payne gas furnace. I've gotten quotes for both 80% and 95% eff furnaces, and the cost difference is less than the $1500 tax credit. At first it seemed like a no-brainer to choose higher efficiency for the same net cost, but now that I am not so sure.

Concerns about high eff furnace:

If vented horizontally, nearest wall is front of house, close to front door and front windows.

If vented through chimney, backdraft and/or water issues?

No nearby floor drain, so where does condensate go?

Furnace is in mostly finished basement, which already has 70% relative humidity year round, but no obvious water/moisture. Don't want to add to humidity.

More noise than old furnace?

Would a 80% eff furnace avoid possible problems with the above? Are there other reasons to consider lower efficiency?

House is 1 1/2 story brick veneer with lathe/plaster walls, new double pane windows, new attic insulation.
