Haven't used it personally SQ, but it's my understanding that it's one of, if not THE best for conducting heat. I think you'll really like it!

Where is is made? Does it list the gauge of the material used? Revere used to make copper bottom cookware years ago and it was good, but then it was made in the US.

Jasdip is right about it being best for heat conduction. Wish we had a Marshall's close. Used to shop there a lot when we lived in Pinellas Co.

The best is made in France, Suzieque, I have one saute pan, it's an antique, Mauviel. Came from a friend of mine when her mom passed away. I wanted one of their roasting pans but it was $600 the last I checked it! LOL!!

Copper clad is great to cook with, especially on gas. But it is difficult to keep looking new and nice unless you polish it after every use. If you use anything abrasive on it, it scratches and dulls. So no steel wool. I think Barkeeper's Friends is safe for copper and would help keep the pots clean and nice-looking.

Not worth buying unless they come from France.

I use Barkeeper's Friend on my stainless pans but never tried it on my copper pan. (note that is singular! LOL!) I was told to use vinegar or lemon with salt. There are copper cleaners but I've never used one.

I gave hubby a tip to use ketchup and lemon juice to clean his drum cymbals with. It works like a charm. Mind you they are brass, but I don't know why it wouldn't work on copper.

The place smells like french fries when he's doing it!

if they are copper exterior be sure you read the tags well because they often coat the exterior with a lacquer to keep them looking so pretty and you have to get all the lacquer off before cooking with them or you have a bad mess (don't ask me how I know this)
I have an entire set of all copper pots but I have not found it since the move, it must still be buried in a box out in the garage.

I remember my old Revere pots and pans I think I still have one. They were the rage back in the day .

I'd be skeptical whether it's more than a copper paint in thickness. True copper bottom cookware was great, but beware of the imitations that are so prevalent these days.

Good copper cookware is fine, assuming you get good stuff.

I remember many housewives using copper-bottomed cookware in earlier years, and I've had some (but can't remember whether I still have any).

And it was a pain keeping the copper looking good. Sorry, but I can't tell you how the few who did managed it. Most got variecoloured before long ... and more or less stayed that way.

Nobody seemed to mind, much.

I still use my copper bottom Revere pans and they are very old. Not hard to keep clean anymore. I don't know about all copper pans. I was given a little pan and lid for a wedding gift many years ago. It seemed to be coated with tin and in no time the interior was very scratched.

I still use the copper bottomed Reverware basic set we bought when we moved here 35 years ago. I don't display them, so I don't worry about polishing the copper to keep it pretty. They work great. I love stainless steel for the insides of the pans and copper in a metal sandwich construction for easiest care.

I was looking at stainless steel cookware the other day. I want to buy some someday. My old set is ceramic coated and from Germany. Bought them at a mom and pop pots and pans factory in the mid 1980's. They are chipped and very well used and so thinking of getting a new set.

Bad thing about the search for stainless steel is that most seem to be made in China and are bad quality...just like microwaves. I worry about dishes/cookware made in China too, the coating they use. I don't buy pretty dishes when I see they're made in China. This past summer I found a coffee mug (travel type) that looked like aluminum, made it China. Bought it even though I never buy food/drink containers made in China. After using it all these months, though, I think it's plastic made to look like aluminum. So, I was in Wal-Mart the other day and saw some more aluminum looking ones, one made in Canada (better than China) but more expensive than the one from China. Which by-the-way, is very dented up just from being put in my locker at work.

The only copper things I've ever used was a tea kettle from Turkey. It got very discolored but I never babied it. I think I still have it and may have to try and clean it up.
