Market Day - May 21

Today was a good day at the market - lovely weather, great folks, an almost sellout day for me - just one loaf of sourdough remaining that I will take to the mountains next weekend. And, the best part was that I got to leave at 10:30 am, having set up a little after 7:00 am.

We had a vendor selling fresh sausage, a sweet teen selling her handmade jewelry (too cheaply), a new team of women with herbal essential oil products - nice stuff, and a late arriving husband wife team selling lamps made from wine bottles - a little too glittery for my tastes. Plus several of the regulars like me.

I had my Amish Wheat loaves, 100% whole wheat loaves, sourdough loaves and some packs of corn muffins. It was a miracle I had that much to sell - rough week at work drained my energy.

The first Saturday in June I plan to make some chocolate chess tarts since the butter tarts did well. Will also make some Hawaiian Banana Bread and the usual loaf breads. I've discovered that I like making the tarts and they don't take as much time to make as I thought.

Poll question: what cheese would you suggest I put in my Country French loaves - grated cheese rolled up in the dough as in cinnamon bun style - to do a cheese bread?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I'm going back to my nap now.
