Its really not wise to handle them so much. All that's needed is to gently take them outside and put them somewhere to hang and finish hardening their wings; like on your flowers or a tree branch. They need about an hour after emerging to fully prepare their wings. They should never be handled when they first emerge. Give them time to hang and pump their wings out. Then you can take them outside to finish drying so that you don't have to chase them around and risk damaging them.

Renee, I've been using infrared nest cams since 2004. Are you recording the video as it comes in??? If you are and want to edit the clips, I use windows Movie Maker which is free and good enough. BTW, while they are building their nest, you'll see the female bringing nesting material IN and see if the male comes in and takes 'stuff' OUT. I currently have a nest building pair who have had me in stitches with their antics..they're not making much progress for some days the male takes out as much as the female puts IN! If you see that and can record it, let me know. I'm trying to find out if this is common behavior or not. I have someone in NC who has video of this behavior. I clip six yorkies myself, I just can't afford to send this many in for "good" haircuts! Get the good clippers, as someone said ... keep the blade sharp. I can do six dogs one time with my blade before sending it in to be sharpened. When the blade gets dull, it pulls and shreds the hair, rather than cutting it. I keep two blades, so that I can switch back and forth. Go to your local petstore, or personal groomer, and watch while they cut hair. You can get some good tips on how they handle the dogs, which way they run the clippers, etc. I keep my yorkies cut really short. We live in the country and they're always rolling in the dirt, and chasing squirrels, etc., so there are tiny pickers that get into their hair if I let it grow. The hardest part is the head/beard area, they look pretty silly at first but just like with people, it looks better after the first week. We just got two new rescues, and they're very pretty girls. DH wanted to have them get professional cuts, so I checked on the price ... $38 each! EGADS! I'm not going to spend $80 every two months for haircuts! They're going to look as homemade as everybody else! LOL!

Well rhizo and others,..attacks are easy to do on the keyboard with hiding your name,..it really doesn't bother me. It's simply not a cult nor a religion and Billy Meier is working hard this not to happen,..too many already exist! [USA] If you would only know half as much as Billy Meier knows then you'd be called a genius. ET or not, if we would only listen to a fraction of he's teachings and recommendation, [especially our governments] then the world would be allot better off! Besides that, Billy's knowledge from our history, universe, galaxy, formation of planets, our sun and evolution, age etc. is unsurpassed, [way beyond our scientists]. The knowledge he has written down, from a guy with hardly finishing high school tells me, he's NOT a hoax! Nobody every could disprove of him for what,..75 years or so. He doesn't profit from all of that, living a very simple life about 20 min. form where I grew up. It's a none profit organization. I know the Swiss people better then that, ....to not to pull some freaky cults, sects, and other rubbish mostly coming from USA! I'm not here to make you a believer, everyone must do he's/her's own research. So, nothing wrong with posting little life lesson videos, it can only do you good!

Does he say "I'm a rock star" at the beginning or am I just hearing things? lol

How is he doing Nicole? Does he have the diabetes like you thought before? I may have missed an update.

Ha. Yeah, he does say "I'm a rock star" at the beginning, Lydia. And at the end he starts to sing The Bunny Song from Veggie Tales.... "The bunny, the bunny, woah I ate the bunny".

I don't know yet about the diabetes. I've been testing his blood sugar levels several times a day, and haven't had any higher than 9 since he got home from the hospital. He has an appointment on Feb. 5, so I'll definitely update after that. Thanks for asking. :)

He loves drumming. He got a real drum from Africa for Christmas. He loves making any sort of music (read 'noise'), really. We've got a keyboard, 3 guitars, a bunch of toy drums and now the real one, maraccas, tamborines, a harmonica, kazoos, bells, cymbals, a rain stick (also from Africa), recorders, castanets....

Sophie and Benjamin are always into the instruments closet.
