You also have agreed that you have permission to post other people pictures. I highly doubt most get permission. Whether the orginal owner of the pics will care is up to them.

I guess I'm missing something because I don't understand why it would be an issue. If someone loves something that someone did here and posts a picture of it on pintrest to say, I like this, what's the harm?

You post your own pix or pin from websites. Yes, I've seen pix from GW show up on Pinterest. Is that what you're talking about? I agree with Lukki - I don't see it being an issue. Anyone can come to GW and see those threads also.

Yes anyone can copy pics and most people don't care where their pics are posted....but some do. That's why Pinterest makes you agree that you have gotten permission to post pics that you don't own.

Not trying to beat the point to death.... I wanted clarification when I was looking for images for a newsletter/website/blog and that's how Pinterest responded.

deedee, I got creeped out one day when I was going to pin something, and I brought up page 1 of about 20 pages of pictures, and found my living room on page one! It listed GW too. I thought about posting it, but OTOH, I like to be private about where I post. Only a handful of friends know I post here.

Yes Oak, that's my point. What if your living room was posted on a site you found offensive?

Like I said, I looked into this subject (posting pics without permission) quite a bit and here was a response I received extremely fast from a guy at Candice Olson's company.

I also asked the companies of Sarah Richardson, Charlotte Moss, BH&Gardens and others I can't remember and received no response.

I think the whole subject is very muddied regarding what's legal or not, but I think sites like Pinterest are trying to make money by letting their members have all the liability.

Ha! Well copyright issues weren't exactly what I had in mind when I posted this, I guess I should have chosen my words more carefully. There was a new "show me yours" post last night and the first couple of responses merely pointed the OP to Pinterest instead of showing theirs. I haven't checked it since... off to do that now.

In regards to seeing your stuff on other sites, I guess it can feel awkward. I did a search once for images with Grass Cloth Green by Behr and one of the images on the first page was our mud room. It surprised me!
