Those earbuds hurt, I am in the market for some more normal earphones.

This is so interesting. I have the same exact problem. I've crammed those things so far in my head I thought they might pop out my nose, but they don't remain in place. No matter how hard I try, they fall out over and over again. I think I have mal-formed ear canals or something.

I bought some nice folding headphones. They're small, lightweight and they don't hurt my mishapen ear canals.

I actually prefer the headphones and the sound is sharper and clearer.

I can't use those either Danielle. Luckily I have a streamer that works with my hearing aids. I have an adaptor to make my ipod wireless and bluetooth compatible so it goes from the ipod to my streamer and to my hearing aids. It is just wonderful and I can answer my cell phone using the streamer too.

My ipod headphones kill my ears! To get them to stay in I have to really push them in, and then they hurt. I want to get some good old fashioned, over the whole ear headphones.

I hate those little earbuds!!!!! I can't imagine WHO can keep them in their ears without duct tape, LOL! My girls bought me new headphones for Christmas - the kind that wrap around the nape of your neck and have a curved thing that rests on top of your ear, so the foam-covered speaker hangs right over your ear. Those didn't work either! . . . they were too big and wobbled while I walked and you couldn't adjust them, so most of the sound went out the back of my head. I'm just using my old ones, but still looking for some I like . . .

Well gee...I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that have troubles with their bluetooth!!! DD kept telling me...'it just fits in your ear'...maybe YOURS! lol

Nope, not just you! I can get them to stay in, but they HURT! One ear usually hurts much quicker, so I figure my ears must be loopsided or something! DH bought me some headphones that fit around your ear and are more comfortable!

I found some on amazon and they have them at walmart and best buy, etc. They are smaller and actually fit down into your ears. They come with 3 different cover to fit your ear size. they're about $15 to $20.

Earbuds don't work for me either. Won't stay in, or hurt too bad to use with my little battery radio while doing some solitary garden activity like weeding. Instead I use a REALLY CHEAP headphone set that came with something else and just happens to fit.

Like artmom, look for earbuds that have foam or rubber around the sound thingy -- they're shaped to your ear canal and stay in better.

Make sure you are putting the left one in the left ear and the right one...well you know. I agree, they don't stay in well, but there is a left and a right.

I've always had the same problem, I think I have small ear canals. I have tiny little eustachion(sp) tubes, so I figured the canals are small too. Nice to know there's a good solution.

I hate them too...I finally got the bose ones and they fit so good. Also they come with 2 sizes. Very comfortable but a bit pricey.

These are sort of like the pair I got. They are tricky at first to figure them out, but you'll get used to it.

My wife discovered why ear buds don't fit. Simple. Our ears are defective! It has nothing to do with the ear canal either. Run out and find someone who can't shake out their ear bud and compare their ear to yours. You will notice that whereas there is a natural bud catching shelf made into their ear, your ear has....none. Hang em in and they slip right out. Normal folks can't shake em loose in an earthquake, because that little fold of skin holds them in. You can hang a finger in their ear canal real good. But try yours and it will slip right out every dang time!

None of these answers work for me. All I am doing is walking on a treadmill and at some point, one or the other will loosen and try to fall out. I've tried all the sizes of stem covers and still the same result. I insert them the way one of the posts indicated, to no avail. These things are driving me nuts...is there something better out there now?

Ear buds don't work for me either. I use regular over the ear headphones. I love the lightweight ones from Skullcandy.

I have problems with them falling out when I'm on the treadmill. Glad I'm not alone.

Wow another old thread, this one is 2008! I thought I was having flash backs.

When I got hearing aids I found out that I have tiny ears. The technician said I have the tiniest ears she has for any of her other folks. She gives me the smallest ones she has. So that's why earbuds don't fit me. That's probably why they don't fit you either. I haven't reallyl tried to find earbuds I guess I need the old fashioned head phones that go over your head.

Check out GadgetBrat earhooks on Amazon. They fit your own earphones and curve around the back of your ear. Two sets for eight bucks. I have something similar. You can also buy earhook earphones, but I actually like the sound of Apple's earphones. Many don't...

Are such tiny ears mainly possessed by folks who are reluctant to listen to "good advice" offered by friends, others, etc.?

I have trouble with them falling out/falling off ... and mine have a thing like a fishhook that fits over the top of the ear to hold them in place.

I think the earbuds hurt, too, I had to get regular head phones.

I tried something like the Gadgetbrat product, but I found that the thickness of the piece that goes behind the ear was annoying when I was in the gym.

I later found something like what I think Joyful guy mentioned -- a thinner wire goes in back of the ear. Occasionally I still had to tighten the wire or push the speaker part deeper into my ear, tho. My earwires are fine for tablet use, when I'm not moving around.

Manufacturers DO know that one earbud doesn't fit all -- that's why there are some that have different sizes in one package, but that's more costly to them. And of course we wouldn't want to cut into their profit margin ...

Have you considered visiting the jewellery store?

Maybe the machine that the operator uses to expand rings a bit might help with the non-conforming ears?
