Cathy : How did I miss your Message ??? Sherry :This started when I asked my butcher to slice some Sirloin thin for Sandwich Steaks. He sliced them a little too thick for Philly cheese Steaks. Sooooooooo !!!! I used my imagination and came up with this.Not hard to do. Just found the recipe: From Luigis Kitchen Stuffed, Large Roasted Braciole , Surf and Turf. I dont think this has been done before but Im not sure. Here are the Stuffing Ingredients: Seasoned Bread Crumbs, 2 cups, with Garlic powder, 1/3 teaspoon Onion Powder, 1/3 teaspoon Salt and a Pinch of Old Bay Seasoning Parsley Crushed , 1 teaspoon Parmesan Cheese I tablespoon 1 Tablespn. of Pwd. egg, or 1 egg mixed with the 1/2cup water, below 1/3 cup of Onions chopped small and cooked 3 min. in Micro Wave ¼ teaspoon of Black Pepper Mix all these ingredients together well. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other Ingredients for the stuffing are; 2 Hardboiled Eggs, sliced. ½ cup of Olives and Capers chopped Mushrooms ( optional ) Cooked Shrimp Pepperoni pieces Also, add whatever you like . Maybe some Provolone Cheese? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If using regular egg ,mix in here, when cool. In a ½ cup of hot water, mix 1 heaping teaspoon of, Chicken Soup Base and add this to the Bread Crumb mix. Dont mix too much ! And just blend to dampen, Not too wet. Lay one piece of Steak in a large Platter or whatever you choose. The piece in the Photo is about 6 in. X 12 in. Spread all the Bread Crumb stuffing mix on this evenly. Place all the Other Ingredients on the stuffing evenly. I put smaller pieces of the steak under the side and let them hang out for wrapping the Braciole as it is rolled. Lay another large piece ( the same size, as the bottom piece of the sirloin. Start rolling the steak, folding in the side pieces as you go. Hog tie the whole mess very good !!! I Browned this well and put it into the Waterless Roasting Cooker With 1/2 cup of water Now it is Ready, to go in the Oven with the Potatoes It baked 1 ¾ Hours,at 350 deg. The internal temperature went to 160 degrees.

If you like fish, then comparing the fish of the Midwest (Great Lakes walleye, Lake Perch, whitfish and trout, and little inland lake fish like perch) to the West Coast seafood would be fun. Produce and baked goods always fab. in both places. The north country usually offers good cinnamon buns or sticky buns in most diners for hungry hikers for breakfast. The pie is usually good in the Midwest, I haven't had any on the West coast so I can't compare. I used to have my own favorite pie place off I-80 but I'm not sure what route you're traveling. MI has Vernors ginger ale which you might try. Also we have Ruby Red Squirt which my east coast friend raved over. I don't know if they even sell it in MI anymore but might be worth a look. I can't drink any kind of soda pop anymore but Vernors really is unusual if you like ginger ale. It is unlike any of the other brands I've tasted, and I love gingerale.

Thanks ladies! EJ, there are other pics just not forum friendly! LOL Karen, you are right, we are not that far away from each other. Yes, Justin has lost his baby fat and buffed up some. Gina and Ellen, Southern CA is sounding real good to me now. Cathy, the fountain was fun but not sure I would do it again. For a bunch of younger kids yes, even though the adults liked it too. I think a fondue would be better and you would not have to use so much chocolate. I used 14 cups of chips and 1 3/4 cups of oil. I tossed a bunch of chocolate the next day. The machine ran fine for about 4-5 hours and then it made some funny noise and started choking so to speak. We shut it down for awhile and then it ran fine for another hour or so. I think something may have got stuck in the auger??? I will say it wasn't as messy as I thought it might be. Yes, some drips on the counter but the floor and my rugs made it without a drop. Actually, the whole house survived very well. One small stain in the dining room but it cleaned up great. It's made by Rival and she said she picked it up at Big Lots. Thanks again everyone!! David

I've read it is not good for cheesecake but I don't make cheesecake anyway. I have seen recipes for cheesecake using it in Cooking Light magazine, but I dunno if the recipes are any good. Probably not good in danish and the like either. I use it mostly to spread on bagels and toast and english muffins, in which case it tastes just fine. I top it with a dab of homeade jam, yum. Great with lox, since that has a strong taste so I don't miss the extra taste for that application. Fine with those dream eggs, because they were flavored with the herbs anyway, and the neufatchel just added a wonderful creamy texture, even with 1/3 less fat. Since cream cheese is almost pure fat, 1/3 less doesn't make it a diet food by any means, but I like it just as well if not better than cream cheese for what I use it for, so that's what I buy for the calorie savings. I don't mind it in party spreads either. NO FAT cream cheese, on the other hand, tastes "gummy" to me and with almost no taste, it's all gummy texture. Note: I made a double batch and baked it in a round cake pan with a "releaser" bar that spins around the bottom to prevent sticking. DH and I went out today on a chicken coop tour of East Dallas. (which was lots of fun, but a whole nother topic) Then I had to clean the kitchen in order to cook in it. But, my little grandson (a month away from 3 yrs. old) and I did get started on Nate's carrot cake cookies, but since we didn't finish making the dough until an hour before his bed time, and the dough has to chill at least an hour, it'll be tomorrow before we bake them and do the cream cheese part. It doesn't matter. Both DGS and I had a great time mixing up the batter. He got to taste the flour, the sugar, the butter, and all the other ingredients as they went into the mix. No germaphobes need taste these cookies when they're done! Thanks Nate for the recipe, and the fun time with my grandson!
