Wonder if somewhere they crossed with a mountain goat.? Isn't there are some up in Canada? Would love to see them, but there are other things in the woods I don't like.

"Sweet William is a superb cut flower, but normally it must be sown in summer for cutting late in the following spring; the 'Noverna' series, however, will bloom in their first year from a winter sowing under glass, without vernalization (exposure to cold temperature)." This is not a reference to the winter sowing method. "a winter sowing" means that the seeds are sown in winter. "under glass" means that the seeds are sown in a greenhouse or for the home gardener under lights. "without vernilization" means that the plant, the Noverna series of Sweet William, will bloom with out the pre-requisit cold period that other varieties of dianthus barbatus need in order to flower. A similar plant would be Foxy foxglove that also blooms without vernalization. This article is very much the polar opposite of the winter sowing method.

How sturdy should the trellis be? Sturdy enough to be able to pull the old vines off of it each year assuming you are planting type III clematis. I have no clue what plastic deer fencing is or how resilient it is but I would go with the fencing I suggested in your earlier post--wire fencing that is coated with a green vinyl coating. Lattice made of what type of material? The lattice that is locally available in my area is held together with brads or staples and in my estimation will not stand the test of time. As far as whether clematis will cling to them, sure they will when the side shoots get long enough to wrap themselves around the lattice pieces. Our thoughts on how the wire fencing may look are immaterial. What matters is what you think! The vast majority of the time during the growing season the fencing will be covered with the vines which will hide it. No one can tell you with any certainty how large the clematis will get the first year. That will depend on how large the clematis are that you purchase, how well you tend to them, the length of the growing season in your area, and countless of other factors. Clematis are not immediate gratification plants--they take time to get established and get in full growing mode. I personally think that whatever you use should be a permanent addition to your fence. Putting up and removing any such fixture on your fence is going to put a multitude of holes in your fencing and over time it will look bad.

The deer whistles work usually only once. That was another test. Deer are territorial. They hear the whistle and look around. They then get used to it and don't bother with it any more. I live in a very serious deer problem area. I have an electric fence around my garden because of deer. i travel the hyway twice a day 4 in the morning and 6 at night. doing that for 21 years. Never hit a deer yet. Mind you i've come awfull close. Deer usually travel in groups. Mother deer and little ones right behind. I don't have deer whistles. It's easy to avoid deer. Turn your radio down, get off the cell phone. deer are almost always in the same area. When you get there, SLOW DOWN. The first deer impact is an accident. The second impact is your fault. SLOW DOWN.

For instance usually a big story of 'breaking news' will be on the "front page" of a news site the day it comes out. Subsequently the "front page" has a new story the next day. If you sent a link out to friends to that page a different news story will be there and anyone you sent a link to will be very confused about your message. The original article will be archived with a different address to access it and this new address is permanent. A little plunking around with the HTTP can find it. The other thing that can happen with smaller websites is when someone starts a mass emailing campaign linking to their website. This can cause a server crash. Some owners pull their sites temporarily when this happens. Their website can't take all the traffic. Then there is the issue of bandwidth too. Website owners hate sudden mass traffic. There are 'work arounds' for this too.

There are some in Iowa - albino deer. I have never seen one, but I have heard about them.

There are some in the Boise foothills, but I have not seen them except on TV. I don't recall seeing any with antlers. These are just stunning Ron. Thanks.

We have them just down the road from us. Southeast Wisconsin, we are on the Racine/Kenosha border. When we were looking at houses 5 years ago one house had pictures of an albino deer family in the listing. We didn't purchase that house but one about 3 miles west and on the very rare occasion we have been blessed to see them at the side of the road. Always in the same place, eating. We take extra care when we go by. Yes, there are fines for killing the white deer.

we don't have white deer, but occasionally see a white squirrel. Kind of startling, actually.

My hubby has seen white deer. He hunts and goes fishing in Iron River Michigan in the UP of Michigan several times a year. No camera of course......
