Ohmygosh. As soon as I saw this I ran to the tv.
Thanks for the headsup Monica.
I am not seeing people in the water. I hope they already rescued them?
Heading back to watch more.

hopefully they will get everyone off before it goes down.Vique.

Pilot glided plane into Hudson River...near USS Intrepid - did not completely sink (water is 42 degrees)

It was US Airways Flight 1549 Airbus 320 - a good-sized plane - just left LaGuardia to Charlotte NC

Saying it was a bird strike

Watching the news right now...many survivors, thank God

Carol (NY)

We're leaving Saturday from Westchester Airport to go to West Palm Beach FL...I am shaken hearing this news. I'm not the best flyer so anything like this really makes me nervous...and not many things make me nervous.
I pray that all aboard are okay.

So sad watching the plane sink. Fox said 146 aboard. I don't see that many getting out. I didn't see the side exits and slides deployed either before it went under. Fox is saying nobody has been hurt. I don't see how they all got out alive. I hope and pray I am wrong. I was just there 3 weeks ago so it really hits home with me.

Sounds like they all got out ok. Thank the Lord.

I'm so glad they are all safe!
They are dragging the plane in with a tugboat now.

Scary, I was just looking at a US Airway ticket last night, heading to Charlotte NC and then to Germany for the summer. Glad everyone seems to have gotten out.

I was on an US Airlines flight yesterday from the east coast, and could not shake this awful dreadful feeling. Flight was 6 hours, and I felt shaky the entire time. That flight was uneventful. Everyone got out, pilot glided it into the water and people climbed right onto the life boats before it sank. I would thank those pilots the rest of my life!

all passengers and crew accounted for. several taken to a hospital in new jersey, but no stated reason why.

it was am amazing landing and an amazing rescue. new york really knows how to respond and respond quickly.

robin roberts on abx news and another man from NBC both were eyewitnesses to the extraordinary job the pilot did in avoiding tragedy/disaster.

all i can say is thank God!!!!!

That captain did an outstanding job of landing! I heard a survivor being interviewed who was just getting on a bus back to the airport to take another flight to Charlotte. He just wanted to get back home to his wife and kids.

This is not the first time I have been absolutely amazed at the extraordinary ability of airline pilots. This pilot's credentials are very impressive, and it's because of him that 155 people are alive tonight. God bless him.

It's amazing that BIRDS can take down an airliner! A friend of mine was flying back from Europe many years ago and there was an explosion, an engine blew out. Pilot came on and said no problem, they have 3 engines left and all is well. It was a 747. A little while later another bang, yep, another engine... shortly after a puff, and a 3rd engine gone... So like she said, contrary to what some claim, a 747 CAN fly, and land safely with only one engine. She said it was a remarkably smooth landing too.

FWIW, she said she didn't want to fly again for a while. At least a couple months. Then she did.

God bless the pilot and his skills!

I just drove up the West Side HIghway on Sunday after visiting my daughter in NYC. SHe lives on the river at 42nd street. The plane went down at 56th Street. It was miraculous.

I recognized the pilot.
When I was working, I flew a LOT, and 99% USAirways.

I think he was amazing yesterday.

He did a great job. As did all the rescuers. God was watching over everyone for sure. Passengers were from 85 down to an infant.

I'm like you Monica. Give me US Airways any day over the other major airlines. I always feel safe on their flights, and I've been on some terrifying ones.

Kudos to the pilot for checking the plane twice for missing people as it was beginning to sink.
