Erica, after seeing your "Autumn Eye" I just had to post my "Winter Eye" :-) I took this close-up of a moose eye at a wildlife center in Alaska when I was there earlier this year for the Iditarod sled dog race. If you look real close you can see me taking the picture and the gal (in red) I was traveling with screaming "Are you crazy???" as she backs up. LOL Jodi-

Alisande...loved the post. Two years ago I sent an afghan to a friend of mine with a Happy 60th Birthday card. She thought I was losing it because it was her 80th birthday until she read the inside of the card. I had started it, ran out of yarn and never finished it. It occurred to me that I had made it bigger than it was suppose to be to begin with and if I ripped out the extra length, I would have enough yarn to finish. It took me twenty years to get around to it. I figured if I waited much longer I might be pressing my luck. Of course her color scheme has changed since twenty years ago, but she got a big laugh from it and it's the thought that counts (I think).

One day at the office, it rained so hard that ... . This picture is not photoshopped or altered in any way. It was taken at a nature center that had a large fish tank in the center of the room. You could look through it and occasionaly, a few fish would come out of their cover and lazily swim by. The effect was erie. The give-away is the flash glare of the side of the tank in the upper right of the photo.

Jodi, I do believe that is a monk parakeet nest. You can see more than one entrance. Each pair has their own little apartment. They build some huge nests with a whole colony of birds living in one nest. They cause lot's of problems for the electric utilities here because they love building these nests on tall power poles and in the lighting at baseball fields and parks.
