Bought a Kenmore Oasis washer from their Outlet Store (scratch and dent model) in Atlanta last week for half price, and have a problem. I keep getting an error code "LF" on every Final Rinse cycle. It works great until it gets to the final rinse, and then it just trickles the tiniest amount of water into the drum from the top/back edge of the machine with no agitation of the drum what-so-ever... I just hear a slight humming sound like maybe the sollenoid isn't opening fully for the rinse cycle...This slow fill lasts for about 25 minutes then the machine stops and flashes up a "LF" (which stands for Long Fill) message. I have managed to work around it by pressing stop when I get the error message and opening the lid and filling the tub with water from my laundry sink hose to cover the clothes. I then close the lid and it finally senses the water level has been reached, and it resumes the final rinse and spin. Resulting in a wonderfully clean laundry wash. I have checked the water hoses, and there is NO blockage. However, this machine did NOT come with fill hoses and I purchased two new hoses from Lowes that were anti burst/restrictor hoses, so maybe these hoses are not allowing enough water to get through, though like I said, it only happens on the final rinse cycle. Water flows in normally at the beginning of the wash cycle so I feel it isn't the hoses. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Any info would be appreciate before I get my hubby to load the washer back up in his truck and return it to the Sears Outlet Store.

Let me warn people about the Maytag MTW6700TQ Bravo, which is a high efficiency top loader. It is a slightly later model than the MTW6600. The older MTW6600 is very similar to the Kenmore Oasis, and the Whirlpool Cabrio (all made by Whirlpool it would seem). The MTW6600 was apparently known for twisting clothes too much. The redesigned impeller on the 6700 was supposed to fix that problem, which I think it has. That's not the problem we're having. I just cannot figure how others haven't seen the same problem as us. The claim is high capacity. But if you put anything close to a full load, most of the time the close on the top never leave the top. Even for half load it sometimes happens. The clothes on top will just stay on top and never get moved around or tumbled about. I've seen this over and over now, and in fact I'm watching a load right now where a small throw blanket on the top of some clothes has not budged from the beginning, hovering on top like a cover. I bought a Maytag cause I loved our old one until repairs were getting too expensive. I read a few positive reviews about the 6700TQ before buying it (reviews are kind of hard to find), and I just don't get it. Maybe people aren't watching it through the clear top to see what's happening with the clothes. It takes about 15 minutes after the start for the actual wash cycle to start. (the whole process is about 57 minutes if you do an extra rinse). I'd love to hear what other owners of the 6700TQ have experienced. It's really too bad, because my wife and I much prefer the convenience of a TL, and this one seemed great on paper, and it seemed really nice to load the clothes without the agitator post in the way. But if it doesn't work right, it doesn't work right. Try to see a demo before you buy. Until they get the kinks worked out, I'd recommend the old style TL, or a FL. We thought hard about the Samsung FL with vibration reduction technology and Silver Care.

I also find it odd that the replacement washer had the same issue. It makes me feel like _I'm_ not using the washer correctly. But, this isn't my first front loader, and with a household of 3 adults, we don't do that much laundry. I know the shipping bolts were not removed until delivery. However, they did place the washer and dryer on their backs outside my home to screw in the pedestals before bringing the units into my house and up the stairs. I don't think they removed the shipping bolts until the washer was in my house on the second floor. The one to two week turnaround time to get a service appointment has been standard during this washer/dryer saga. I'm not sure if the Sears services all appliance brands they sell, or just Kenmore, but in either case they are 'backogged' enough that this much time is needed to get an appointment.

@Jane Check with your local sears and big box stores about the exchange/return policy. They all had some sort of exchange ranging from 15 days to 30 days when I was shopping. You need to read the fine print very carefully. IIRC there was a catch in the Lowes that limited the exchange to higher priced item only. Also note that they do price match each other during "sales events". I know Sears does the measurements for every appliance in the specifications on the web site. You can't determine whether that fridge will fit from the depth measurement (front to back) and your counter depth? I have a narrow galley kitchen so had to be careful with the open door swing measurement. I'm terrible with imagining "the space" so ended up cutting a piece of cardboard to various sizes so I could "see" how much it stuck out. Other posters are also right about the differences between the "normal" US cu ft and how much will fit in the European machines. Mieles and Askos were far above my budget so I didn't seriously consider them. However, I've used a Miele before and you really can stuff it almost full and have the clothes come out beautifully clean. None of my North American front loaders could be loaded as full with the same results. Yes, you can put a lot in those big drum tubs, but you can load up the European models too. I guess it depends on how you do laundry: all in a day or some loads every day. We're on a well so I can't run the machine endlessly for just one day. Also remember that all the modern front loaders have relatively long wash cycles; most are +/- 1 hour. The sanitary cycle on my 41072 is 2 hours minimum and almost 3 if I do more than 1 extra rinse.
