I'm like my dad. I cry when things are happy, sad, just cause.

When I taught school, at the end of the year, would let the kids watch Ole Yellar.

You could hear them snickering and pointing to their teacher, me, who had tears running down her cheeks when Ole Yellar died.

So do I. No matter how hard I used to try to not cry. Interestingly....now at the age of 78 (both DH & I), he is astonished that he cries so easily too. He says "What's with this"? Sweet commercials too, btw.

Very easily.....not only do I cry but I sob.
I went to see Step Mom, years ago, with a group of friends.
I could not quit sobbing and I was so embarrassed.
My dad cried easily, too and sobbed while I was walking down the aisle at my wedding.

Oh, yes! I watch the having-babies channel (TLC, I think) and get teary-eyed every time at the actual delivery - such a wonderful experience for the families. I used to work in Labor and Delivery and it was always a teary experience.

Don't even get me started on those Folger's commercials at Christmas time! LOL

Angelaid, those Folger's commercials get me every time! Yep, I cry at the drop of a hat. Soldiers coming off a plane with family waiting REALLY get me going! Same thing when they show the soldiers being sent off by family members.

I finally decided to just try and avoid things that might make me tear up, like so many 'chick flick' movies. Now I lean more toward comedies whenever possible.

Before my dad passed away, we were watching "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve. We were both crying at various times during the movie. My dad used to cry listening to opera because he loved it so much...I take after him, cry at everything. My daughter thinks it's funny.

Yes I do. In fact when H. Clinton was talking, (and tearing up) describing the bring back those lost, I too started to tear up. When I see the service guys come back, tears come too.

I used to tear up more easily than I do now. The last time I can remember actually sobbing was sitting in my car outside the nursing home where my mother was dying -- and that night, after she was gone.

I can always tell when one of my 'inner child' traumas is being activated: My throat constricts.

I find that the older I get--80 last July--the more emotional I am, and the more I tear up at the slightest thing. I used to be embarrassed, but now think it's better to be 'touched' by things than hard-hearted or uncaring.

Yes and sometimes I hate it. I cry more at weddings now than ever before. Something about the little girl growing up and leaving her parents just really gets to me. Perhaps because I know how darn fast that happens! Try telling that to a young mother who is up all night with a new born. I'd go back to that in a heart beat!!!

Oh, I can never get through a wedding without crying. Often the father/daughter dance gets me going all over again.

It's like watching someone yawn to me--I can see a complete stranger irl or on the tv cry, and there I go. I've always had this annoying trait and wondered why I couldn't toughen up as other kids did as they grew. I know now that it's just my genes, though neither my mom nor my dad were criers. The two times I saw my mom cry terrified me. :) I used to try to hide it from my kids, but now I don't care as much.

Yep I cry over everything! Most embarrassing is I could never help crying over dead animals in the road. Now I seldom cry over random animals unless it particularly touches me for some reason.

I'm very emotional, and I cry at the drop of a hat. The other day I found out our neighbors were going through a health crisis with their son. I called to let them know we were thinking of them, and praying for their son, but couldn't finish the message because I started crying. We don't know them that well, and we've never met their son. How awkward, but I can't help it. Sheesh!

I tear up easily...over so many things. I often embarrass myself. But, I very seldom cry over anything in my own life.

Hallmark = sobs, movies, commercials, you name it. I can sit here and think of memories and I would be a basket case. Better not to sit and think.

Worse than crying for me....I will see a horrible picture on FB...like an animal that has been abused or horses headed for slaughter, and I cry and have a hard time getting the image out of my mind. It truly does often ruin my day.

Count me in as a crier.

About the only thing I cry about anymore is animal related. I was a big crybaby as a child but outgrew it when I got to be about 13 or 14 and now I rarely cry unless the movie is really, really sad or we're losing a pet. Lassie movies just do me in. LOL And I hate to cry in front of anyone so holding back gives me the worst headache.

Like Flamingo... I tend to cry at things animal related. I can 'out of nowhere' start crying about a movie or a picture or something from 'real life' I saw years and years ago. I try like crazy not to cry when other people are around me. I find it happens more as I get older (I am in my early 50's).

I only cry at animal related stuff, like abused or dead animals. Rarely cry at movies, but I sobbed out loud at Marley and Me, but then so was everyone else.

i'm like marilyn c as far as animals are concerned. on facebook, i have had to delete some of the posts of abused animals because it makes me feel so bad. i cry over movies, too. in fact, i cry over commercials, news, weddings, etc. mostly, i cry, happy tears.

Yes I do. My dad was very emotional and he cried a lot, so I figure I get it from him. It still makes me cry when I hear someone is dying from Pancreatic Cancer, since my DS, DM and DA all died from it. I cry when I try to tell someone a sad story. O theres lots of reasons to cry for me.
