Uses for Microfiber Cloths
Comments (40)I don't think it really matters what brand you get as they are all virtually indestructible. I got my first batch 10-15 years ago at Lidl's (it's like the European dollar store) and I still have a lot of those yukky green microfiber cloths. Some have been lost or stolen, but the rest are still going strong. I tend to like the terry cloth type for floors and the smooth ones for dusting and polishing. You can use the smooth ones in the workshop, but earlier poster was right any sawdust or sanding particles will ruin the terry-type (the smooth ones work so well for between sanding tasks that I don't use the oiled cheesecloth anymore). Try a few versions out and see which type you like best, and for what tasks. If a certain color turns you off, avoid it, because these things will be with you probably for the rest of your life. It's like carpet, it doesn't really wear out--it uglies out. But who cares enough about cleaning cloths to replace a ugly cloth that still works fabulously....See MoreMicrofiber cloth
Comments (8)Yep, they have a "grippy" feel to them. My son refuses to fold them, because he hates the way they cling to his hands! Do NOT wash them with your towels, you will never get them separated. I have a bunch and wash them on their own. If you have a Sams Club membership, you can get huge packs of them there for $10, its' a terrific deal. Otherwise I've also seen them at Walmart. You can check in at the Cleaning Forum, too--if you search on Microfiber you'll get tons of ways people use them. I love 'em, and use them for all sorts of things--I have yellow for icky jobs and green for dusting/cleaning things that are not icky. Comments (9)When I went to the Pomerania area of Europe on an organized genealogy search tour, I was surprised at how callous some of the old church records were treated by the owners. In some places cotton gloves were worn and pages turned by tweezers. Masks were worn and the place was ventilated to keep exhaled carbon dioxide from doing damage. Of course researchers had to protect themselves from breathing in harmful molds and fungus too. In other places the proctor just tossed out the books and let everyone ruffle through them. Lots of people did headstone tracings and there were some that told everyone they "were doing it all wrong" and causing damage. Lots of drama. Probably no real "right" answer to many of the methods. Everyone was using one of the many approved methods and there were few amateurs in the group. Some persons were extreme preservationists when it came to headstones. ------------- If anyone has ever tried to research family history from some of the Scandinavian countries they are stymied by the fact that 'last names' change with every generation. So, Jacob Simonson would be Simon Thomson's son. And Simon would be Thom Olson's son. Try following that. LOL. A relative married a person with a Scandinavian history and they tried to research it. What made it even more complicated is the custom of giving a last name as the father's name with 'son' added began to die out in some areas so you just don't know....See MoreHave you tried any new products/food/clothes that you're happy with?
Comments (137)Thanks! Oakley -yay for Aquage! That brush looks amazing. Funkyart which style do you think runs wider? My feet feel much better. My left foot doesn’t hurt at all anymore when I have them on. The right foot still does but I suspect it will take awhile for that foot to settle down. I really need a pair of comfortable (standard work with almost anything black) boots/booties but don’t really like their styles. Theres one that’s ok but I wish the toebox was shaped a little different. Going to order more sandals. Im going to look into some of the other sandals mentioned here too. Thanks Eld. Yeon -The small bottle (they have a large size too) has a dropper and I just put a drop on the applicator and run it along the top. Another drop for the bottom and drop right at the beginning of the spooly brush to use on my brows. It sounds like a lot but I have over half a bottle still. I don’t recommend brushing the oil on the lashes with the spooly brush (mascara wand) because the oil is so thick it just beads up. It’s kind of gunky feeling but doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. I do it right before bed and sleep with it on. In the morning I just rub my eyes. It seems some of its absorbed in because there’s less. ETA - Thanks for suggestions about exercises. I was thinking there was probably stretches or something I could do to help. I'll check it out. Justerrilynn -They look great! And nice ZZ plant too....See Moregraywings123
