Humidity to Expect w/A/C On

We have a 2900 sq ft single story house built in 2001 30 miles north of Chicago. We have two natural gas forced air 2-stage Carrier systems.

Today I noticed that it felt not really too warm in the house at 77F, but rather too humid. Our indoor-outdoor monitor reads 56 percent indoor humidity; seems I recall it being more in the 40's when we have the A/C on. It's 85F outdoors today w/humidity in the 80's.

We have dehumidifiers running in the basement, if that makes any difference.

I have a second (possibly related?) question: When servicing the systems this spring, the HVAC guy said one of the condensers' fan motor was running too hot; could seize; needed new motor and blade; $400+ to repair. Is that typical for a 6-year-old condenser? Could that be contributing to our too-humid situation -- if it IS too humid? (I checked and found that both condenser fans are operating.)
