Everyone did their job but the fabricators

While planning our remodel with the help of GW, I read many horror stories of countertop installations gone wrong. We did our homework because we didn't want that happening to us!

Well, it did. I won't go into the details, but neither two quartz companies nor our fabricator cared whether we got the product we paid thousands of dollars for. Sadly, our problem probably stems from being good customers. We were pleasant to deal with, understanding when they made mistakes, and paid in full before we were 100% satisfied with the product itself. We trusted them because they were recommended and reputable.

We had several tradespeople come through our house for our remodel. The kitchen designer did his job. The cabinet maker did his job. The cabinet installers did their job. The sheet rock guy did his job. The plumber and electrician did their jobs. The tile setter did his job.

So my question is why can't fabricators do their job? Why so much unskilled labor in this industry?
