I'll try them for sure; I haven't had much luck with the more gentle, natural
cleansers, specially dishwasher detergent, so I've gone back to good old
Mr. Clean and Cascade but would love to find more earth friendly stuff that
really works.

I've used the lemon verbena dishwashing soap ... don't care for the other scents. I prefer Caldrea products. They made a Meyer Lemon Parsley scent for Williams Sonoma that I loved. I'd buy the dish and hand soaps by the gallon. Then they discontinued it and replaced it with much more astringent smelling blends. It's always the way.

Tina, do you have a World Market or Whole Foods? They both carry Mrs. Meyer's.

Thanks Natal! We don't have Whole Foods, but I do believe there is a World Market in the *big city* (LOL). It's a good ways from me but probably worth checking out.

The upper-Midwest ACE's can order about half of their product assortment.
We've had it for a looooongg time.

I think Bed, Bath, and Beyond has the products, too. That's where I picked up a little sample bottle of the lavender laundry detergent to take on an extended road trip; it worked well.

Love the Mrs. Meyer's products. I think I have seen them in Target, but I find them for a bargain at Trader Joes, sometimes BB&B.

The Clean Day hand soap is always by the kitchen sink. Everyone asks is it antibacterial? Well, no, but you only really need good ole regular soap. A thorough washing of the hands alleviates the need for whatever it is that makes other soaps "antibacterial". Sadly, so many people have ramped up their handwash to include that feature. We've always tried to stay away from those products, so as to allow our bodies to keep their own germ fighting abilities, not relying on "sanitizing-type" products that I think may contain alot of alcohol?

The fact that the entire packaging of all Mrs. Meyers' products are biodegradable for recycling makes them even more appealing for me!

My neighbor, a school nurse, told me that many soaps with "antibacterial" ingredients have insecticides in them. I don't know if that's true, but ewww.

Good old soap, used properly, works for me. I have Mrs. Meyers counter spay. Love the scent.

Anyone used their Laundry detergents or fabric softeners?

Either Triclosan or alcohol are used for the antibacterial properties. Alcohol is the better choice because triclosan is being questioned and reviewed again by the FDA for its safety. They even put this in those germ fighting toothpastes that are supposed to last longer.

I tried the Meyers products but they are too fragrant for me and other family members. Someone I know loves them and thinks they make her house smell fresh and clean but to me it's a bit overwhelming and honestly smells like one of those cheap perfumes that you want to get away from. I prefer no lingering fragrances and open windows for fresh air. I also think it's a lot healthier. A lot of people have difficulty with fragrances in their environment.

The other day I saw someone on a design show promoting a product called Lampe Berger which is supposed to give a fresh scent and actually clean the air. I saw on their website that it says it was invented to purify the air in hospitals. When looking around, there was a notation that it is not available in California. They said its VOCs were too high so it didn't meet California regulations. Some of those products can even kill birds.

Plants are supposed to be good for cleaning the air and there's nothing like opening the windows for a while even in Winter. I do enjoy the fleeting scent of natural aromas just not a perfumed environment.

I never even notice the lemon verbena smell of the hand soap. In fact, after reading about the too strong odors, I actually checked mine, since it really didn't stand out to me as having a fragrance.
