The Young and the Restless

I have been watching Y&R periodically over the years but, for the life of me, I don't remember the character named Casey that they're talking about now. Apparently she has cancer. Can someone bring me up to date as to who she is, please.

She's Nikkis sister and for a short period she was on quite a bit. I'm thinking she's suppose to be a doctor

Yes, she's a dr. If I remember correctly she was married to Snapper, Jill's oldest brother at one time. She was very beautiful.

1. What are you wearing at this moment? Black knit pants, black Polarfleece socks, long-sleeved purple t-shirt and black cardigan. Chilly and rainy here today. 2. What have you eaten today, or plan on eating? Sort of forgot to eat today. *sheepish grin* Supper will be beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes and either peas or green beans depending on what DH is in the mood for. 3. What time did you get up this morning? 8:30 - had to accept delivery of some materials for the porch project. Was too early since I didn't get to sleep until after 2. 4. What are your plans for today, or tomorrow if you're reading this late in the day. Thinking about a nap, then supper and reading and watching TV with DH. 5. What is your favorite fruit pie or cobbler? Wild Maine blueberry, but I prefer a crisp to pie or cobbler. 6. Now think back..what was your favorite Christmas present you received in 2008? We don't do Christmas, but my favorite Yule present was a new set of Tarot cards. 7. Think back again, what was the funniest or "WTH?" Christmas present you received in 2008? A set of plastic LED nightlights in primary colors and shapes like pyramid and cube. Totally not to my taste, but I know my friend meant well. 8. Do you watch Soap Operas, and if so, which one's? Now be honest here. :) Nope. Used to watch Guiding Light and even though I haven't watched it in 25 years I was still sad to hear it had been cancelled. 9. David Letterman or Jay Leno? Jon Stewart. Crime shows or a GOOD 30 minute comedy show? Both. Well, for comedy I mean standup comedy, not sitcoms. I hate sitcoms. I especially like "NCIS" and "Bones" for crime shows (used to watch the original "CSI" but lost interest when Grissom left). I agree with Cooperbailey that "NCIS" can be hilarious! Love Gibbs' headslaps. :-) The "Law & Order" type of crime shows and the true crime ones are way too depressing though. Comedy Central needs to get more new standup shows, or dig some of the oldies out of their vault, because they keep showing fairly recent old ones I've seen 17 times already. If I see any of the "Blue Collar" ones again I shall scream. Although I did quite happily watch the musical comic Bo Burnham for the third time last night because that kid is so bright and beyond funny - every time I see his show I catch something new because his lyrics are so fast. (Caution, he's a bit rude. Okay, more than a bit. LOL)

Good job Karen! I tried to search for the very first segment, but it must be bumped off the site now. So this is only the story of Gomer and Margie, which have had quite the adventures of their own.

One of the spoilers says 'Phyllis has somebody who is interested in her (Adam-Vic Jr.)' That sounds creepy ~ he's too young. Hopefully the writing will get better now that they have fired LML. It has gotten bad since she was hired. (SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- "The Young and the Restless" Swings the Axe! Soap Opera Network has just learned that Executive Producer and Head Writer Lynn Marie Latham has been fired from CBS' "The Young and The Restless," effective immediately. Latham's husband, Bernard Lechowick, who served as a Creative Consultant and Writer, has also been let go. Other writers exiting the show are Marina Alburger and Lynsey Dufour. More writers from Latham's team are expected to follow. Josh Griffith, who went on "Financial Core" status and replaced Latham as Executive Producer, is expected to remain in that position. However, there is no word yet if Griffith will remain as Head Writer. The status of Co-Head Writer Maria Arena Bell and Writer Paula Cwikly were unclear at press time. The Reason for Daniels Blond Hair THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Michael Graziadei (Daniel) will be shooting the curl as star of the indie drama The Outside. "It's a cool movie about a young surfer who ends up tangled up in the professional surfing industry," Graziadei says of his side project. "It's all about his journey and has some interesting life lessons." Lessons Graziadei got to explore. "I'm the lead  isn't that nuts?" he marvels. "It's unbelievable and such a big responsibility. I've never experienced anything like it. It's a lot of work. I've been putting in 15-hour days." I think you can watch the episode online. I have also found a good recap website, but be careful, she posts a day ahead, so if you're not careful, you can read the wrong day accidentially. I think her site is www.young-restless.com Here is a link that might be useful: Toni's Spoiler Site

I sorta remember Snapper, but have not been able to recall Nikki's sister at all.

What did y'all think about how they wrote Brad out of the show today? At least he did one good thing before he left. :)

Snapper used to be played by David Hasslehoff. when I first started watched Y&R, they were a major couple.

What do you mean "wrote Brad out of the show".... Does he die?

I've been distracted while it's been on this week. Did Brad die or did they imply he died? Did it have to do with Noah falling through the ice?

He has been let go from the show, budget cuts. He is supposed to die BUT what if his body isn't found, you know how that works from other soaps. Years later they show back up.

Thanks Debby...I was thinking Hasselhoff, but just don't trust my memory any more. :)

I read Brad won't ever be back, so I'm thinking he's a real 'goner'. But never say never, right?

I can't believe that! I remember when he was on Days! Didn't like it when he went to Y&R. He'll be on another show soon. It's just weird how the economy affects tv too.

They never found Dru's body either, so I have a feeling she'll be back one day too. Maybe she and Brad will find each other and return with a love child. ROFL!

Linda, I agree Brad will show up again. If you remember Brad was once a poor pool maintenance guy for the Abbotts? In a few months he was CEO. Isn't it amazing how fast kids grow up on soaps. Also, love it when they go to medical school or law school in 3 months, no problems with getting in or taking the LSAT.

Earlier in the week, I was wondering why they were showing old clips of Brad and Tracy reminiscing. Now it makes sense... it was his send off.

Thanks, all. Now I remember Casey. But, I didn't think Brad was being written off. His character was unlikeable, but I think he did a good job of playing the part. Now who, besides Jack, will Victor have to pick on. He'll find someone.

I read on a soap board that Brad dies on Feb. 5th., earlier I had read his last day is Feb. 3rd.????
Isn't it ironic that he saves Sharon's son, will be a lot of guilt there on Sharon's part. I can think of others who should be leaving instead of Brad, all of the many new characters, but they work for less money. Hate to see him go, the writers have given him sorry story lines the last few years.

If they couldn't afford Brad, why did they bring back Ashley and Abby? And they gave Michael and new sister. ugh! While Brad isn't a 'good guy' I much prefer his scenes over theirs.

I don't mind Ashley and Abby. And Brad was never my favorite, but I really don't like the story lines he's had in the last few years. I haven't like either of the girls who have played Michael's sister, they both seem whiny to me.

I haven't watched Y&R for decades, but I used to be a faithful viewer. I saw the very first episode, in fact. Anyone remember Snapper, Jill, Leslie, and the others?
