ISO good Philly-area granite fabricator & bianco antico-like slab
Comments (6)I live in Southern Chester County. I used Stone Masters in Kennett Square. They did fabulous work. (I have BA) In fact I was in there yesterday with a friend looking for her counters. Their prices might not be the cheapest around, but I feel you really are paying for the craftsmanship and you get it from them. Let me know if you do go, I'll tell you whom to ask for. Here is a link that might be useful: Stone Masters...See MoreBianco Antico granite, too pink?
Comments (12)I love those big bull nose samples, they just have them at the place I go. Anyway, I don't have it installed yet because I just can't decide between that and bianco antico. It's just the red that is keeping me hesitant. Anyway, I need to decide soon we are getting close to granite time. Thank goodness! I found this picture and it looks like aran white but sometimes they call them different names. She said it's Fleur De Lis.... http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f223/sarapamela/?action=view&current=100_1797.jpg keep in mind it looks browner in this picture because of the backsplash or it really may be a different granite. i don't know??? This one below (2nd one) is Fleur De Lis I'm pretty sure. http://sherichase.com/progress/fleurdelisgranite.htm...See MorePlease help with Bianco Antico granite
Comments (14)i totally agree with everyone's advice here. i went to several granite yards and really liked alot of slabs, but i just felt i had to keep looking. then i went to a yard, saw this beautiful slab of granite and just knew "this is it"!! we had a couple more places we could have gone, but i said "no, i don't want to go to anymore places, this is it, i'm done" i made my choice then and there. when you feel there is "no comparison" between what you previously pick out and considered and the "it" slab, you know your search is over i knew it was the slab because i wanted to "throw it on back" and take it home then and there! it really is true, and i was doubter, you really will know when its "the one". you don't want to see other slabs and you know your search is over. i also agree with the "name of the slab". don't get caught up in it. each yard can call slabs by different names so just look for the colors you want and then everything will fall into place from there. my is called "sedna" and when you google it, there is nothing like mine on the web. so they might have used that name, but another yard can, and they do, call it by another name. get what you love, not what you think evveryone else will love or what you "should" you get. best of luck.. when you do find "it", you will know, and all your searching will be worthwhile because you will walk into your new kitchen every morning, and you will fall in love with it all over again.. Comments (2)Everything looks beautiful so far, and I'm sure what ever you choose the result will be lovely. I am not a fan of the 4" border concept. It reminds me of the 4" laminate bs of yesteryear. I love the subway tile. I'm not sure which mosaic you think of as the basketweave, but you might want to consider using the small stone square mosaic with the large central pewter accent (just to the right of the stove) in a rectangle with a border/frame around it above the stove. You'll want to think about the spacing of the accent tiles - 4 as you have them, or 6 (mimics the burners) or three in the center. It's hard to know without tile dimensions but you'll figure it out. The image below from stonecontact gives an idea of what I'm thinking....See Morebreezygirl
