Is there some special or correct way to level a FL?
Comments (14)Well the Samsung 448 is now installed. What vibration? Checked the floor before installation on the main floor and it was level in all directions. Installed the washer and checked the level and it was good. Started a load and waited for the spin cycle. It hardly wiggled at high speed. I got down and could see no movement, I then placed my finger on the feet and the front left felt like it was moving more than than left front. The paper trick did not indicate anything. I unscrewed the front right leg out a little and the movement felt less. I have a Whirlpool top for folding cloths and it works great. I had a glass of water on the top for diluting the fabric softner. The water was hardly moving in the glass on the high spin speed. PS the washer seems great for the first few loads and the dryer took very little time getting the first batc of towels dry. Did I saw they are both quite. Thanks for the tips....See MoreManipulating water levels
Comments (24)A certain person here is a habitual "know-it-all" and gives bad advice, so just ignore their comments. As for modifying a FL to give a LITTLE more water--I personally think that's not a bad idea. Taken to the extreme, as someone mentioned, apparently causes a problem with washing action. One can always undo an adjustment to a pressure switch, so the only thing lost may be one's time tinkering. I've watched some Youtube videos on adjusting a Samsung's pressure switch, located at the top right front are of the machines that were shown in the video. Interesting, but I'm not going to mess with mine as I'm still amazed at how well everything gets cleaned, despite their being a disconcertingly small amount of water in the machine for most cycles....See MoreAnyone tried this to "fool" non-adjustable water level sensors?
Comments (7)I apologize for not answering your question but when people ask how to raise water level without giving any sort of performance complaint or reason for doing so I have to wonder why. It seems that there are many people who have psychological issues with low water levels in washers. BTW I am not against raising water levels because of environmental impact, but if people are getting poor results with their HE washers there may be things that can be done about that while still operating the machine within the manufacturer's specifications to ensure longevity and intact warranties....See MoreHow To Get A Clean Wash With A Samsung FL
Comments (15)When we purchased our Samsung, I thought I had done my homework and selected the most trouble free machine that I was aware of. That was before I found out about the problems that are inherent in modern ecological philosophy. Now, I really don't know which manufacturers to trust can get the job done. You are getting a large capacity machine, I believe. That will limit your choices. I might look at the Maytag large capacity top loader and see if a model has controls that will let you adjust the amount of water and temperature of wash and rinse. But that is just a guess. Since Samsung greatly exaggerated the capacity of my machine I don't trust them. And I'm not sure if they know how to make the soap, bleach, conditioner dispenser work. Remember, they are using very little water to wash the clothes. How do they get all the soap out of the soap dispenser and still dilute the bleach sufficiently, and completely rinse it out. The difference between solid and liquid detergent dispensing on mine is a plastic piece that you slide up for solid and down for liquid. There is no seal around the edges of that piece, like rubber etc. So if the liquid is thin enough it can leak under it. Then all your liquid detergent seems to be used in the prewash cycle. It is stuff like that, along with bad performance, that soured me on it. Many others are really happy with theirs and I am a bit of a worrywart, so be warned....See MoreArliVie
