Charlie's Soap and Static Cling

I'm about 3/4 of the way through my first bag of Charlie's Soap - and I'm getting an alarming amount of static cling. I have two jackets with polar fleece in them, and after watching them, I swear everything else I wash afterwards has tons more static cling than normal.

I keep reading all these evils of fabric softner, but I went back to using some just to get rid of the static - and it didn't seem to work as well.

Does vinegar help static cling? What else can I do?

I read on the web about using two strips of foil added to the clothes when you put it in the dryer, it's supposed to reduce static cling - but all it did for me is give me two wadded up balls of tin foil.

Any other options? I'm afraid I can light up a light bulb like Uncle Fester can do, if i don't figure out this static cling thing soon.
