Pris, that was MY first thought too! Take it easy Faron, load up on some turkey & stuffing, watch the game and put the leg up and then nap like a baby. You'll be back at it soon enough, so take advantage of the down time.

Addicted to Vicodin (hee-hee!)...No. I can't even tell I'm taking anything (although I'm somewhat disappointed in that...;-))!
All my interpersonal relationships are usually very long running though...;-)

Known to cause spells of madness & despair, with fleeting moments of joy....

I DID wash LOTS of after-dinner dishes though.
"Ouch". Time for another Vicodin! Last one today was ~11am.

That's exactly how pain killers should be for people that truly need them. They should relieve the pain, but not make you "high". I had to take Percocet for several months when I had severe back pain due to a herniated disk. All that it did for me was take the edge of the pain. Then I had surgery and my pain was instantly gone. What I didn't realize though was that I was semi addicted to the Percocet by then. I didn't take any for a day or so afer my surgery, and I felt extremely weird. So I just took half doses, then quarter doses, etc. Fortunately, I must not have an "addictive personality" because I have never been tempted to take Percocet since then

Faron - Not sure about the "House" part of your thread heading, but I hope you're feeling better very soon. Definitely need to be careful with the Vicodin. Sounds as tho you're taking it in the appropriate dosage. You definitely shouldn't be "high" from the pain meds. Sadly, I think that particular class of meds are being abused from what I've heard on the radio and the little bit of TV I watch. One commercial I heard in the car was about the kids obtaining and using that type of meds from their own home medicine cabinet? Wow.

Anyhoo, I do think that everything they did to numb you up to do your surgery had to take awhile to work it's way totally out of your body.

Yeah...they made sure I knew about that side-effect when I left the day-surgery building!! I did look @ the link, & it jives with the info-sheet I get from my Rx. Hasn't happened to me yet. Maybe cuz' I haven't been taking it "constantly" by any means....
I DO have most of a bottle left from Sept.'10, when I had my hernia surgery. Obviously they're needed for after THAT kind of surgery!!!

It's so WEIRD looking @ the line of little "holes" in my shin-area, and upper thigh. I can't remember...is it kind of a Novacaine/similiar substance that's injected every couple inches??!?! Each one is ~ 1/16", and there must be twenty!!

The pain & tightness started the same day I got the wrap off, which was 4 days after. Surgery was last Thurs. am...1st visit/pain-arrival was this Monday!

Most of it "expresses" out into the "fluff-wrap" dressing that I had to leave on for 4 days until my 1st follow-up visit. I just can't remember what it was???
