I love NPR

I learn so much from listening. Yesterday when I was driving they were reading the chapter a day. It was chapter 8 and I hadn't heard any of the others, so I almost switched. But I got sucked into a very interesting book called The Tiger by John Vaillant. It is about a man-eating tiger that was stalking humans in 1997 in Siberia. This true story is so fascinating. I downloaded it on my Kindle, and read several chapters last night.

Then today as I hopped into my car after my workout, they had the gardening program on and were talking about orchids. I had just been at my friends house, and I had given her an orchid as a housewarming present and it was doing fabulously. I had bought one for me at the same time, and had made the mistake of re-potting it and all the blooms fell off. I learned that I could just cut off the barren stem now, and when to fertilize it. Also, that it would love to be outside in the summer.

I think I'm going to have become a sustaining member, since I really enjoy many of the programs.
