I work with someone who received the beer one. He said it was a bit of a bummer that he always had to make a trip to UPS every time because they can't leave alcohol without an adult present. (He and his wife both work during the day.)

For my husband's birthday, some co-workers gave him a few months of a wine of the month club & had it shipped to the office. It was a nice gesture but we didn't continue it after his initial subscription ran out.

For many years I did a Harry and David fruit of the month club for my inlaws. It's expensive but the fruit is always pristine and packaged beautifully. They really enjoyed it. I posted a link to one of the more expensive packages but there are cheaper ones available.

One year my husband gave me an 'Orchid of the Month' gift from Smith and Hawkin. Unfortunately they've closed but you could probably make the same arrangements with a florist near the recipient. It would be cheaper than using FTD.

We gave cheese of the month from Murray's Cheese in NYC to my hard-to-buy for brother - he enjoyed it very much. If you google, you can find tons of different clubs, ranging from cheesecake of the month to coffee & perfume. I have given coffee of the month, but arranged it independtly with a local shop.

Thanks for all the ideas. That Bacon sure is tempting. I have done Harry and David for the past few years, very good. There ARE all sorts of interesting ideas on google, just hard to tell what is good from what is not so good
