I've actually considered putting these words in my kitchen - not cooking related but I'm in the kitchen all of the time (it's "my space") and I've been through a lot of serious, scary stuff over the past 2 years. So here are my words:

Actually that is in my kitchen.....and another I have is a framed calligraphy thing which says "Do you love me or not? Tell me again cause I forgot".....which is especially poignant because of the story that goes with it.

Arley, that sounds like a quote from Dante's Inferno at the Gates of Hell. I haven't read it in Italian, but it sounds the similar.

I had my favorite quote written in Italian on a plaque to hang in my Italian-themed kitchen.

Last summer on a trip to Minneapolis we ate at a French restaurant. There was a quote on the wall attributed to Hannibal Lecter: "I love the French. They taste just like chicken."

My favorite is still the sign that I saw in Grand Rapids at the kitchen shop that Sherry, Cathy Peppi and I went to:

LindaC your second quote made me smile. My Gran had Alzheimers and we would always tell her we loved her then she would ask us who we were and when we told her she would say "Of course I knew that! And I love you too!"

These are 3 mini cast iron skillets from Lodge, purchased at Cracker Barrel. Each has different words: "Honey, I shrunk the skillet", "In this house, we cook as little as possible", and my favorite "Dieter's Skillet".

Of course, none of the sayings are true to my kitchen :o)
