I cannot speak to undercounter install, but we have the GE Monogram Advantium 120v and I have been very pleased. It has not been installed very long--2 months? so I cannot speak to longterm use. But I do like the functionality of having 2 ovens when I need it. Maybe others will speak up with their (longer) experiences.

I had a GE Advantium 120 for about 5 years of use in my old house from 2005-2011. I had no problems with it other than a blown bulb that they wanted some crazy amount to come out and fix. I googled the problem and found the DIY fix online for the price of a $4 bulb.

My only statement here is that it was lots of money to pay for a really cool appliance that I did not fully use. I used it as a microwave 90% of the time, and 10% of the time to bake frozen trader joe pizza, or fishsticks on speedcook.

In reality, the pizzas do better in a real oven, and fishsticks fair just fine as well. The Advantium may have saved a little time (at most 8 min) due to the speedcook function but required cool down time after that where you could not use it at all, whereas a regular oven can go from one task to the next.

I did not get another Advantium due to budget issues - home prices were in a deep hole and I did well selling the other house, but it was clear I had over improved it. I did not make that mistake with our new gut/addition/rebuild. I was sorry to lose my Advantium, but in the two years in my new home with a regular microwave, I have not missed it at all because I really used it as a microwave mostly, and the oven function was not as good for pizza crust as a conventional oven, and the fishsticks do fine in a convection oven with a few minutes added for warmup time which the Advantium does not require.

So, in short, I had no issues with it, enjoyed having it, but it was not worth the money at all.

We recently installed the 240 V wall oven. My impression from the reading I did is that some of the reviewers that were not happy with the 120 V did not see as big a time savings as they hoped and consider it underpowered vs the 240 V, where it is easier to see the speed in the speed cook mode.

I have also read reviews from people very pleased with the speed cook at 120 V. I think it's a tough question to answer.

There is a 4x power difference between the 120 and 240 versions. The 120 is OK if you will be using it mostly for the MW function, but if you want to actually use it for an alternative oven, and speedcook functions, you need the 240 version.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I am now at a point where DH and I agree we cannot move forward with the 120v advantium and since we are looking for an under counter install of a micro/oven combo, we are now looking at the Miele v Electrolux. I have seen many postings here about love for both. If anyone has installed one of these recently and can give us any feedback, that would be greatly appreciated!

Or consider the sharp.
I love my 240 Advantium and it reheats pizza to perfection using the speed function plus I can bake, MW etc. I don't think I would have been happy with the 120.

Okay, finished up research and shopping today. Came out with quotes for the Miele which is only 24" wide at almost 1k over the price of the 30" Electrolux Icon speed oven. Yikes! Seems the feedback on the Miele is overall better than the Electrolux; however, I can't seem to justify spending 1K more on this appliance, especially when it's smaller size.

I looked into the SMEG and Sharp, but have decided the Electrolux Icon is the right decision for us at this time. Thanks again for the feedback everyone!

I also have the 240 Advantium, undercounter, and it is awesome! I use it to bake (as a second oven), cook, reheat and mw. I can make two baked potatoes in 8 minutes! I am so happy that I got it. I needed a second oven but didn't have room for both a second oven and a microwave. The Advantium solved the problem.

Powermuffin--I thought I read here you shouldn't do the 240 Avantium Undercounter?? Did it require extra venting or adjustments?

Undercounter install of the 240 Advantium is not allowed according to it's instructions. There are people who have done it anyway. I plan to go with the Bosch benchmark speed cooker to get 240 undercounter--they allow that installation. There appear to be zero user reviews however and it is very $$$. I posted in appliances a week or so ago and got no responses. Sigh. I believe there is also a jenn air, but I have found even less information about it. The Electrolux has been discontinued as far as I can tell. And the remaining options are less than 30 inches.

Crl - it may be b/c of the Houzz issues that you didn't get a response. It doesn't look as busy there as it used to. I suspect many forums are suffering.

Bushel, that might be right. I also think there just may not be any reviewers out there. No user reviews come up on google searches that I can find. And past GW appliance forum threads are pretty bare of user reviews of any of the newish Bosch benchmark appliances with the few mentions of the speed oven saying that no one has reviewed it yet. It is a lot of money--really the splurge of this kitchen remodel for us--and I wish I could find a few reviews.
