HVAC in Seattle.... sleepless over sizing!

Help!
We are building in Seattle and have had a few quotes take us in many directions. I am planning to put a furnace in the crawl space (48") with rat slab- come up just below the stairs with the duct.
We are planning 16" web trusses for the second floor. I am thinking about adding a heat pump as well. We will be bringing gas in from the street. I am looking for advice on a 95% or better furnace (manufacturers???) to meet the energy code out here and some suggestions of HRV vs. ERV in this climate. Thoughts on a heat pump vs. not... also happily considered! Any suggestions will be appreciated! The total conditioned space is approx 3500sq. ft.
Thanks in advance,
Beck
