Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. The only birthday wish I have left (besides more rain) is to hope that I get to see you all again as frequently and as soon as may be. Rosefolly

Boy, I am really late. I just got my laptop back today. The 3rd would have been my DH's 81st. So was a bit sad for me. But......I hope you had a really really good day. Kathy

Thanks for the good wishes! It was a lovely day, just me and DH....Liana 's boyfriend finished up his Masters this week and she is off helping him move. We just got back from a massage (ahhhhhhh.....) and an excellent early dinner. DH hands me the laptop, "You haven't checked your forum today....it's your birthday." lol This was dinner: "Beef Tender with Béarnaise Hand cut beef shoulder tender marinated in thyme, rosemary and sage, pan seared and oven roasted, served with sauce Béarnaise, smashed Yukon Gold potatoes and seasonal vegetable". The smashed potatoes were cooked whole, smashed, and then fried until golden and crispy. Dessert was caramel and chocolate ganache layered in a peanut butter cookie crumb crust. omg Annie, I broke down and bought an All American last summer. I got a screen door for my birthday (which hopefully includes rebuilding my falling-apart front porch). awwww....I miss you guys too. Oh for high speed at home......

Thanks for the birthday birthday wishes, lol. No rest for the wicked...a morning of meetings, but at least they were with people I like. Cathy, it was a gorgeous day. We all sat down the street from the CdA Resort and gazed longingly out a wall of windows watching people enjoy the park outside. Annie, a long weekend sounds wonderful, but I gotta work today and Saturday. I'll do my best to catch the train to Margaritaville the rest of the weekend, hehe.

Katie, my partner in crime!! Happy Birthday. I know nothing will quite compare to Roger and Sherry's back seat, with David "riding the hump" between us, but try to do something almost as much fun.

Thanks, everyone! So far it's been a lovely day...except it's cold and raining and I had to work, hehe. But it was a stress-free workday and I'm ignoring the fact that I'm a year older, so it's all good. I took off an hour early and I am sipping from my stemless (jelly) glass. As soon as the kid gets home we will head out to a place on the river that serves great food...all homemade breads, salad dressings and desserts. And, yup, Ellen...you nailed it...a bottle of Huckleberry Blush it will be :)

It is only 10:00 PM here on the west coast so it isn't too late to wish you have Very Happy Birthday.

Katie, Just this week I had some of your syrup (well, syrup from you) on waffles (new recipe) and thought of you. Guess that was for a reason! Hope your birthday was pleasant.
