Comments (21)natal yep he uses the bakers ammonium...got it at his chemistry dept :) It makes the very crisp finish. Also he double bakes like a true biscotto. We have decided that the label on the original Brocato's is " wrong". They leave out eggs, but there is no way to make Regina cookies w/o eggs. Not sure how they get it past all the laws but we think they are withholding the true ingredients to preserve the recipe. No matter we are really happy with these. After over 45 yrs of eating them I think we have got a winner. Haha...I went out and checked my Hello Yellow and guess what...it is the asclplepsia ...milkweed ! yeah...I got it at the plant sale. Now have 2 of them. Look out Monarchs. I am so excited. Wish I could grow some of the others like cuphea...not in this zone...dies in winter. Let me know if you want the crunchy form of the cookies. c...See MoreCKGM- Could you please post more photos of your backsplash?
Comments (9)Thanks so much CKGM for getting back to us with the photos of your beautiful tiles. (I was on vacation recently and am now just getting a chance to check back.)Your granite is even more like mine than I first thought! (Though my rusty streaks are a bit paler). Your tile is gorgeous and so unique that it might not go out of style as quickly as some other type of tile that "everyone" is doing at the moment probably would, IMHO. I went to a local Grazia dealer and they said that they don't have butter blend, or anything from that line,in stock anywhere around here on the mid-atlantic coast! They said, since it has to come from Italy, it could take months just to get a sample in! Where did you get yours from, if I might ask? I wonder if they would ship? Please post pics when you get your new grout stained! I think it looks fine now, but I know that in real life, things can look different....See MoreOh please post a photo of your backsplashes...
Comments (64)I am still in the ABB club but making progress. Our kitchen started out contemporary/modern but ended up transitional. Initially, I really wanted back painted glass but just could not get the glass to talk to the countertop. I did not want subway (reminds me of elementary school or an old hospital - sorry) Tile is Grazia Rixi Crema and the inset is called Beach - from Tile-shop.com (not tileshop.com) This is the tile and inset we are going to order - working on shipping arrangements as has to go to a business or the shipping costs as much as the tile!! Plan on one layer of 5x5, then the inset, and then diagonal above. These are all different color tiles as I only have one sample of the color. I might put a few small medallions above the cooktop (see Chitown - not sure she posted) L-shaped section of the kitchen (there bake zone is on the opposite side) but might give you an idea of at the style....See MoreNursetammi can you please post photos of your kitchen?
Comments (15)lynn2006, you are too funny rethinking things, remember I have a big, very well lit room from all the windows so it doesn't look too dark. I too love the warm feeling. That was my goal for people to come in and immediately feel at home. But then I look at everyone's white kitchens that look so beautiful and think hmmmm maybe I should've done something different!. I'm just glad I don't have to make any more decisions, I'm done for a good while :) Good luck with your choices and decisions. You have a great team here to throw things back and forth with. I'm glad I was able to show you something different....See Morerikerk
