I have subscriptions for Reminisce and Reminisce Extra. Gifts from my DD. I am thinking of subscribing to Taste Of Home. When the mags are read I put them on the table in the APT house hall for others to read. Dottie

I like them all! I pass them along to a friend, but eventually they end up at a recycle center. I have no idea how much they spend trying to get me to renew....a bunch!

I haven't subscribed to magazines for decades. I can get most of it all on the internet without the clutter, which I have plenty of as it is!

However, sometimes places like hospitals, offices, nursing homes, etc would be glad to get some donations if you need to find a home for them. Some collect them and sell them on ebay!

My dh signs me up for magazines, but I don't. I either buy them once in a while or for $.25 at the thrift store. When I'm finished, I let met kids tear stuff out or I send it to school for the teachers who need them for school work.

I've had to monitor my magazines closer. I picked up a Cosmopolitan at the store a few months back. My 6 yo dd used it to cut out "P" words for her kindergarten assignment. I was busy cooking supper and dh came home to find that dd had glued "period", "Plan B", a few other suggestive words and a picture of an almost nude lady wearing "pink panties". We had a good laugh and helped her replace her pictures.

I get Readers Digest and Country...the RD goes in my door pockets of my car and I pull one out whenever I'm waiting somewhere...after I finish it I either drop it at our Dr's office waiting room or put it in our reading cabinet at work...someone is always wanting something to read while waiting for a plane...we do the same with paperback books...I trade my paperbacks 2 for 1 at a little used book store...and if she doesn't want them I drop them off at the library to be sold or donated as they want...

I need to call a nearby nursing home and see if they would like them. Where we lived before they used to be very happy to see us.

I stopped buying Country, Taste of Home, etc., because they sent renewal notices just about every month. At one time we had over 3 years on our Taste of Home subscription and they still sent us notices. But Harry really likes Country so we take that one now and I toss the renewals.

I quit taking Mags years ago. I buy them at my Grocery Store if something looks good.

I only getthem when the subs is under $10 I got my first issue of Good Housekeeping yesterday what a waste of money not like the old magazine I remember. Very high end glossy and almost every other page a medical or pharmaceutical I take the lable off and then bring them to my laundramat

I don't take any mags. My DD brings me hers: Better Homes and Gardens, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, etc.

I scan through them, but they are mostly ads, recipes, and decorating ideas that I wouldn't use, plus the text is so often so small and in such pale colors I can't read them. I've offered them to neighbors, but nobody wants them. I put them with the newspapers to recycle.

Most doctors offices subscribe and always have a rack full. One place I have taken them to is the shop where I have my car serviced. Gives the women customers something to look through other than Auto Mechanics or Hunting and Fishing.

Recently a Mission Center has opened a Thrift Shop in town that is convenient for me, so I will be taking them there now.

i LOVE getting magazines, always have. i recently realized my mom must have too and she rubbed off on me lol because i often have piles to go thru, just like i remember she did lol. DH gets several too, as they provide a nice short reading treat in between his college exams, projects and homework. they are also great gifts i think because something new comes each month. i also purchase different magazines at booksores when they have something i'm interested in.

I'd be okay getting no magazines at all. I rarely find anything I can use in them anymore.

I usually list my used magazines free on Craigslist.

I only take one and it was a gift.

I only get one now and it's about to expire,and that's Birds & Blooms.I used to get all kinds of them,but over the last 2 years or so i let them run out.

As for what i do with them,i sent a priority box of B&B to a friend in Oregon that was going thru hard times.Most of the time though i take them to the senior center,hospital waiting room and dr's offices,or i cut out pictures that i like and can use and toss the rest.

I've gotten a variety of mags over the years. Subscribed to Sunset for many years and then got irked when two different recipes had errors.

Now I get The Week--love this magazine. The content is collected from other major news sources. Great cover artwork as well.

Also I take Organic Gardening.

I take mine to the hospital and leave them in the lobby. I did ask first! My DH saves his fishing magazines,after a LONG time he take them to his fly fishing club and donates them.

I get National Geographic, Choice (our consumer organisation magazine) and Reader's Digest, a restaurant review magazine and have been gifted Gourmet Traveller, a foodie magazine. Nat Geo and Choice go to our local library, which has no budget for magazines. Gourmet Traveller will also go there when I start getting it. I should also send them the restaurant magazines. The Reader's Digest goes to the seniors' home up the street from us. That way others get to enjoy them all and they're not taking up space in my house!
