Dcarch, your noodle dish looks delicious.

I'm not into faux chicken but that might be something Yennj would enjoy.

DC, the rack of pork looks lovely. I like the Israeli couscous stuffing and the roasted vegetables too. There were only four of us for Easter dinner plus I only bought one 4-lb. rack. But the meal was a success, and if I ever need a gussied up main dish, I'll keep your presentation in mind. Thanks!

I'm curious about the veggie chicken. What is it made from? I like veggie patties, meatloaf, etc. as long as they're homemade concoctions. I don't care for the phony veggie meat products.

Wow! And green onions, oh how I love green onions! My husband introduced me to barbecued green onions- they are to die for! I am curious about the chicken, too. Is it seitan?

yum! thank you for posting :-)
I'm now more inspired to try those sesame noodles :-)

    Thank you everyone.

bizzo, I forgot to mention that sesame noodles are mostly served at room temperature.

I am not sure what the veggie chicken is made of. It has a very nice and meat like firmness texture.

Vegetarian cooking in the Far East is an art form because of the Buddhist tradition. It has a very long history of development and has become a very unique and complex cooking style. People go to Chinese vegetarian restaurants not because they are vegetarians. They go there to enjoy the good tasting food.

Zen Palate is a very good one to go to in NYC.

I love those. Especially the vegetarian chicken. Where do you get that stuff?

John, that's not a vegan recipe.

The vegetarian chicken can be bought in many Chinese stores (here in NYC).

The sauce is made with two salted (cooked) duck eggs, vegetarian oyster sauce, some yogurt, pepper, rice wine, garlic, all blended to a cream sauce.

The fried Taro balls is vegan. It has the most interesting crispy-ness and mouth feel.

The sesame noodle dish is vegan. The noodles are home made using a ramen noodle recipe.

Dcarch - is the veg chicken seitan? What is the texture like?

Teresa, seitan is more Japanese, I bought that in a Chinese store, so I don't think it is seitan, but they are all similar stuff. They are basically made from wheat gluten.

The texture is very nice, chewy in a tender way.
